Big Dog says “Don’t give up on us”

Says that good things are coming and to give Bush time to get his type of players, he inherited players that can’t run his system. Sounds like nothing will change after the season, we are just gonna have to Hope for better results next year. SMH
Here's a freaking CRAZY concept. The dude that gets paid over a million a year should maybe adapt "his system" to the talent he has. That is such a trash excuse. Eddie Gran took a GD wide receiver and made an offense around that dude playing QB. Bush Hamdan sucks and there's no getting around it. A lot of it is on Stoops as well, but Hamdan's "system" is garbage.

So, what type of players does he need? And this doesn't apply to only Hamdan, but how come every single OC can't tweak his system to fit the players currently on the roster? Is that not part of coaching. At a program like ours, it's unlikely you will ever have all the 'type' of players that would ideally be suited for your system. Don't you have to work around some of these annual limitations? Tired of the excuses. Do your job and put a competent offense on the field.
Yeah I like Bush but this is my take as well. I realize an experienced or Dynamic QB is going to make a lot of things work better but it doesnt take specific talents around him to take advantage of the short and mid range passing game more, working the outlet and check down passes more, getting the tight ends involved more etc etc. Thats scheme regardless of who you got out there and we've got some talent to do it with. Our problem on offense is we have no mid range game at all. We're like a basketball team that can only shoot threes or drive it to the rim but nothing in between. So frustrating watching Brock stare down field for 5 seconds holding the ball every down. The only time we throw it short is behid the line of scrimmage!

I appreciate and support the players. Stoops on the other hand, I’m done with him. Thanks for what you did here. It’s time for everyone to move on.

This is the same guy that said UK was gonna win out after the Georgia game. Nothing but a hype man. If UK didn't have the offensive players for Bush's system then why the heck did Stoops hire him in the first place? Neither Bush nor Stoops have a clue. Its time to CLEAN HOUSE.
Exactly from the Head Coach down!

It’s just narrative building Vince feeds when things aren’t going well. I don’t blame hamdan per se it’s been non stop with stoops. They’ll lay it on Coen leaving like it was Scangarello totally, then it was Wolford then it was…whoever. Same circle. Meanwhile we don’t have to look very far away to see teams that have revamped overnight by hiring people that get things done.
Exactly. Nailed it.

It is fair to point out Bush's QB at BYU last year is Arkansas' QB who's lighting it up this year. Of course they've got greasy Bobby P calling the offense but still, what Vince says isn't entirely off base.
Curious if he’s having to run the ball more than the running backs over there .

Why does big dog keep getting credit for all these recruiting "wins". The players are all overhyped. Especially the tight ends. I'm sorry big dog is well passed his prime.

Can we get AI for our OC?
That's a thought provoking question. I've mess around quite a it with Cht GPT and it can create amazing result on difficult tasks.
At some point if not already, someone will come up with a system for creating data on situations, teams and players and feeding it to an AI ap to suggest optimal plays to run under certain circumstances which hypothetically would have an overall higher probability of success then human decision making.

To be fair they never target him. One play Saturday he was wide open across the middle for an easy touchdown and Brock threw the ball to Barion on the sideline who had double coverage for an incomplete pass. Just after that they showed the team on the sideline and Maclin was talking to someone sitting beside him and you could tell he seemed upset that he was open and they didn't even look his way.
That is because BVG is a one read QB. He has already determined where he is going with the ball before it is ever snapped. He locks on and that is all he sees. Now I don't know if that is what the coaches want him to do or have told him to do but that is what's happening. On almost every pass play you will see someone running open and he goes to Key or Brown 95% of the time.

I have to mention Eddie Gran had to change his system more than once. From Barker to Johnson. One year a wide receiver running wild at quarterback.
If Hamdan can't adjust to the players we have he isn't much coach.
