"There’s a lot to like about the 19-year-old Australian, but it will take something special to ensure the talents of this beguilingly complex player are fully realized."

and just think - had he landed at Kentucky, he'd have just been one of a plethora of talented kids. None of these articles talking about his fragile talent or complex play.
I'm sorry - yes, he's good, really good and could've been great in his one year of college ball - but he's not a transcendent player, IMO

Agreed. He would have been coached heavily on his weakness(es).

sorry - just a little tired of all these poor little Ben Simmons articles. He made his choice -
Yes, he may be right - he may be good enough to have gone lottery regardless of the school. But, what he, and a lot of them who choose this way, fail to realize is those coaches haven't the foggiest idea of how to actually prepare them for the NBA. I haven't seen anything from Simmons that indicates that he has actually improved his game in any way. He's the same now as he was at the beginning of the season.

I think he could become one of the next greats IF he plays PG at tee next level and works on his ball control and perimeter shooting. I'm not ready to compare him to Magic Johnson, but his physical attributes and skill set are similar to foreshadow the potential of such a comparison.

If he goes to the NBA and plays anything but the PG, I agree, he will fall through the cracks and be just another long and tall forward.

I also realize the movement towards position-less basketball, so if the term PG offends you just substitute it with "primary ball handler and offense facilitator." However, I think just saying "PG" is much easier
