I say that simply because this isn't the first time Cal has offered a player who would/could have been eligible for the draft before ever playing a game. It may backfire this time, but do we really think Cal will change because of one outlier??

I think this is the new norm and not an outlier for the eligible guys.There are not many that fall into this category. As good as this staff is at recruiting I just do not see why they would ever make one the draft-eligible guys a priority.

I think he misplayed it. As you and others have noted though, not a deep 2G class as well which factored in. In today's environment I just can't see making a draft-eligible player a top recruiting priority and I bet he doesn't again.
