Arkansas fans coming around

You can divert from our own issues however you like. But if you do talk about the wild fires, please post it in the Paddock, we have enough Cal and Arkansas threads and other BS to wade thru as it is. It is OK to talk about those other basketball related topics, I 100% agree, but 10 Cal threads on a UK message boards main page is a bit obsessive. It is almost like some of you are more concerned with Call failing, than UK winning. I do not see 10 UT or Florida threads on the first page, so I do not have a issue with those topics, but smart of you to try and deflect away from your obvious obsession with Cal / Arkansas.
Your Cal fanboy status is impairing your logic. Rupp Rafters is the spot for Kentucky hoops chat, and Calipari's coaching past at Kentucky makes him relevant. Do you honestly think Cal isn't watching our games? He's glued to the screen. Nobody's fixated on Cal, he's not a top-notch coach. Why would we be?

I didn't remember/know Nolan did that. That team that lost to UAB was one of my favs, Fitch, Daniels, Hayes, they had no superstar but they played team ball better than any other UK team. Went undefeated in the SEC.

03 team went undefeated in the SEC and lost to Marquette. It was the 04 team (also overall #1 seed) that lost to UAB.

04 really overachieved considering their personnel and talent levels. Like you said - a true team.

I think the fires were started by people..

I bet Cal is watching also.
I don’t think Cal wants UK to fail but I also bet he doesn’t want Pope this year and next record to be better than his last few seasons.

I really think Cal wants to one day come back to be honored. As he should.

It’s just not the time anytime soon for me for that to happen.

I was just kidding on the wildfire thing, but still, this might be the most popular sports message board out there, thousands of people come here daily, given that fact, I think it's pretty tame when you think about what's happened at UK the last 4 years.

What I don't get is, guys like you are out here policing this board like we should just shut up about a guy that was the face of UKBB for 15 years and left to go coach a soft rival and took our players and recruits to boot.

Also, plenty of Arkansas fans have trolled us. This is a very meaty conversation topic and honestly, it's a bit weird to me that some of you act like nothing happened.

10 Cal threads on the first page??? You see 10? Are you sure? Even if there was, nobody should be surprised, our former players, coach and recruits are at another school and that coach left us with zero players.

Also, take a look at the thread title, is anyone not staying on topic? What's the issue?

You know, I've seen dudes exaggerate to make a point, but you took it to another level.

You lied. You said there were 10 Cal threads on the first page. Are you really bad at math?

There are 2 and one is at the very bottom of the page WITH ZERO REPLIES.

There is one other one, but it is about Cal trying to get Matt Jones fired, which doesn't fit your criteria. So the reality is, this is the only one. Nice try.

So basically you came in here and trolled the thread. Are you a Cal guy that is just struggling to read the truth? What's your deal?

Daniels and Hayes had a connection the likes of which I haven't seen since. Man, I love both those dudes. Daniels was so underrated.
Talking about underrated....how about Fitch too? He was a killer.

I loved those teams. Every single one of those guys that played significant minutes were ballers. Other than 14-15, that is the best team we've had that didn't cut down the nets. I simply loved every contributor on that team.

The only way they are going to get better is to bench DJ.
He needs about 15-20 min a game backing up Davis and Fland.
I think we know the likelihood of that happening.
You would think but Davis awful there. He’s almost unplayable on offense right now. DJ has been worlds better than him honestly.

"and, now. Introducing the coach who allowed a player to ride the bench on full scholarship and never have to play, despite the fact that he would go onto to be drafted when he specifically stated that he wanted to come back for another season......."

And collect a ton of NIL money.

Do we get anymore NIL contributions from that Louisville Porsche dealer?

True but it seems Cal.needs to let Davis be the Lamb to Flands Knight.
DJ is more the swiss army knife type who can fill in both guard slots.
If I were Cal I would try the formula of the '11 team with Fland/ Davis at guard with Adu at the three, Brazille at the 4 and Z at the five.
Aidoo and DJ off the bench with Knox and Richmond only with foul trouble

You know that. When the heat gets bad enough they will pull one out.
They definitely need the win Sat but Clayton and Martin are as consistent as they come and Richard who actually played better last year is capable of 20 on any given night.
Arkansas needs the game to be a rock fight but I don't think that's the DNA of the roster.
Everyone of those guys loves to play hero ball and I don't think they can win a shootout with Florida the way UK did.

I personally don’t think they will win at all but I’ve seen our teams win games like Arkansas where reeves had 37 that one year. We had like 6 players.

Cal is in a tough spot, he was in the same spot last year, 20/21, 21/22 and 22/23, in order to win games, he has to come off the promises he has mafe to players and he's going to have to play his best lineup, insyead of the.lineup tge NBA wants to see on the floor.
He chose option B the last 4 years at UK, I bet he also chooses option B this time too.

Based on past occurrences what makes you think DJ will be back? 2 years is about the max amount of time Cal has with a 5 star
Not DJ, he is family and Cal will always support him like he promised his father. Cal still thinks he can develop DJ into a NBA draft pick.

My buddy and I used to call him "Old School".
He made lots of old man church basketball moves but with his body and athleticism.
Funny... He's one of my under the radar favorites as well.

Hahaha - he DID play like that & I remember SOMEONE on here making those type comparisons - maybe you?

Didn't he grow from like 6'4" to 6'7" and put on a lot of weight too? Seems like he started as a Guard? Or am i crazy?

Really enjoyed those type of Tubby teams - Estill was another personal favorite in that bunch

81 2nd round game. Looking at the box score, I'd say it wasn't a good thing Verderber lead us in scoring. Bowie had only 5. Oof!

Oh wow - yeah, that was a bad stretch
I THINK UK went :

NiT - early exit '80
NCAA - first round exit '81
NCAA - first round exit '82

Anywho - that second round loss Tubby had to them came after a VERY close first round game against Florida A&M I think

Hate UAB to this day ;) ;)

Oh I agree Cal at the end was a total clown show on so many levels…. And I was totally glad to see that crap show leave….

But I do one day think he will be honored for his achievements and good he did at UK one day.
I also think in time fans will come around and get behind.
Just no time soon…..

I’ve not been a Cal fan for several years…

Squeaky Johnson may or may not amount to anything in life, but he will always have that game.
