Until they can get a real picture on what our lineup and roster would look like, I know I wouldn't be making any decisions in haste. Remember they have had offers from others for much longer time and they haven't committed to them either.
Like most on here I think Bamba is a need, with the guards if we get one I will be happy.

Weren't even thinking UK .. now they have a real decision to make. And you know rival recruiters are already telling them they'll be recruited over and

Not really. If Johnsom likes UK he would wait for Knox to go elsewhere. Bamba may be waiting for Bam to decide.
Baker and Smith just got many offers. They need to look at options. UK already has 3 guards rated above them.
Yes, you're expecting too much. They're making life decisions, and the oldest offer of any of them is 3 and a half days old. It's silly to expect them to make a massive decision in that amount of time.

I agree, in my opinion a solid but not elite player coming on board with no relationship already fostered would be more impressive of a recruiting win than an elite player coming on board.
If Cal told them "First one to commit is IT!"...then yea, I would expect someone to jump.
But I doubt that's how he put it. So what's the hurry?

These 2 recruits will be replacing Dom and Derek. It takes team oriented kids to come into U.K. knowing that you are going to have to compete for PT against NBA caliber players for your entire career.

How do we know that some of them aren't waiting to make it public because Cal has explained to them how this needs to be done
If what I read is correct, Coach Cal and staff have preferences. Thus, there may be contingencies on some of those offers.
Is Knox really leaning toward Mizzou? If we don't get him I'd much rather him go there than UNC or Duke -- but is this kid really going to turn down UK, UNC and Duke.. for Mizzou?
I don't know if he'll wind up there but the fact he could with offers from blue bloods like UK, Dook and UNCheat has got to be a big reason Cal is looking for a shooter(s).
It's baffling that we would be "too crowded" at the SF position -- And yet he might go to a school with the number one SF in the class..
Bring it on, the SEC needs the talent, and give us some competition in SEC

It's easy to think lower ranked guys are looking at Winthorp and Jackson State. But that's not the case.
There are other factors--everyone in Illinois is pushing Smith to be the hometown hero and go to Illinois.
Playing time matters and they may see that sooner at a place like Oregon where a 5-star PG does t pop up every single year.

I imagine Cal pitched these guys with the same honest approach he does with other recruits.

No, he's not..It will be one of the 3...I'm thinking UNC if Jackson leaves..He's not going to Duke..His spot is open if he wanted to go there..I don't see UK either with Diallo, Vanderbilt, Washington, WG, SKJ
If Knox does not come to UK then I hope he goes to Mizz. If I'm Knox though, after the NIKE Hoop Summit, why would any elite player want to play with Porter. He's more selfish than Tatum was last year. Porter is clearly a me player. He's very good but wants it to be all about him.
Shai Alexander, Diallo and Greene. But if I'm a 4*, I'm betting I'm as good or better than anyone.
Isn't Diallo more of a wing who has a reputation of being a poor shot and not a great handle? I thought of him as a small forward in the MKG mold. Wrong?
I couldn't care less where Knox goes. I've always thought that Vanderbilt was a better player anyway. No, this is not a new revelation to me (Nike Hoop Summit). I've literally always thought that. Vanderbilt is a better defender, passer, ball handler, rebounder and is just a straight up basketball player. Only thing Knox does better, right now, is shoot. If Vanderbilt develops a consistent shot, it's lights out and game over, IMO. We are LOADED with forwards as it is. I know, Knox could possibly play the 2 here.
