MLB Ump fired for Betting Account

I watched Donaghy steal a series from Phoenix and the Spurs won the title because of it. The NBA blessed it so I am a little doubtful to the league not knowing. I haven't watched the NBA since.

And when I saw that happen, I posted how weird it was. I was assured that I didn't know what I was talking about and referees are above reproach.

I promise you John Higgins was paid for the North Carolina game.

Nothing can top the 2002 Lakers / Kings series. The refs didn't even try to hide and the announcers were just laughing about it. I can still remember the look on Divac's face like he couldn't believe what was happening.

That was a hard lesson for me that shattered my belief in the "fairness" of sports. All the talking heads said people were crazy. Years later Donaghy rolled and admitted the front office fixed the whole thing.

Hopefully this whole anti corruption thing catches on and sports gets cleaned up.

I remember when he later fessed up about him fixing games, but don't recall him saying the front office was in on it? Link?

It was in his book so there is no link. He also didn't outright say the office did it or he would have been sued. Instead he talked about who the league office called in to do games when they wanted a certain outcome. Mainly Bavetta and Foster.

Donaghy wasn't even in game 6. He was just the whistleblower for the scandal. Stern and company then sabotaged the FBI investigation and made him the sole scapegoat. That is when he started to name names.
