"Unbiased" is the reason why I've posted so much in these last 16+ pages of the pros and the cons. Like with so many other things, often a diversive trend emerges between the population of people who are all in on EV's and those that are dead set against. Both of these populations spew statements that aren't factual and often refuse to see the other side.

I have both gas and one EV and like them all. Each have their pros and cons, but I enjoy driving them all.

As I've mentioned before, I service five different family vehicle and I bought my TESLA due to lack of having to service it and my wife not having to stop and get gas.

Almost three years of having my TESLA, I have changed the cabin filter, added wiper fluid and bought new tires once each.

The political bullshit has been my worst experience. I live in an area in E Ky that has its fair share of rednecks. I've been "coal rolled" and my wife has been presented with the middle finger once while driving it. It's just pathetic how some people can't tolerate technology.

Jason Cammisa just dropped a new video. It’s a head to head comparison of the newly updated Tesla Model 3 Performance vs the current BMW M3.

Looks like the folks at Tesla have finally started to figure out that 0-60 times alone don’t make for a good driver’s car, nor do they make for a fast car overall. They’re great for drag strips or standing starts at a stoplight, but that’s about it.

Now it seems Tesla is starting to head in the right direction in terms of making a competent driver’s car.

It’s still no match for an M3 if you’re a serious driver. Over the course of the 15 minute lapping session at Willow Springs, the BMW had pulled over one mile ahead of the Tesla. But Tesla is definitely making progress and closing that gap. The fact that the Tesla’s brakes held up over the 15 minutes is an impressive improvement.

Depressing to see how much microplastics are put into the environment by the degradation of tires and that tires on heavy vehicle shed more, like the tires on electric vehicles.

Sheeez , I drove a Mustang electric rental this past weekend and HATED it .. about 260 miles on full charge . Had plenty of pickup but the computer screen and all the bells / whistles were just too much for an old guy like me ( 58 ) .. the worst was recharging .. took nearly 2 hours to charge to 97-98 % capacity to return the car . Had people waiting in line to recharge these POS's . Morons , what the hell is wrong with people ? They had no gas cars to rent at this small place .. and this " Mustang " was Gawd awful looking . Plastic piece fell loose while driving it on the front bumper . Just trash .

Sounds like you went to a level 1 or 2 charger. They have level 3 chargers that go at charging speeds that are much faster, where it takes 30-40 minutes for 250 miles.

The screen has a charging station near me function to locate 1,2, and 3 level charging stations.

I fill up w/ gas in 5 minutes and am back on the road for another 450 miles.

I have a Tesla and the only time I charge away from home is when I'm on a road trip. Otherwise, I wake up every morning with a full charge (or 80%, which is what Tesla recommends). BTW, something I don't hear enough about is Tesla full self drive. I recently started subscribing (after Tesla gave a couple of free months to all drivers) and it is just phenomenal. Sure, you have to pay attention to the road but it is a true game changer. You don't know how good it is until you try it.

Technology that allows a car to drive for you does not "suck dog ass". As I said, you won't know until you try it.

I agree with this but I wonder how often people drive over 300 miles from home? Rarely I would say (I know that is true for me). Also, if you live in an apartment or condo, or in an urban area where you have to park on the street, EV's are not for you. You really need a home with a charger installed.

Very true. Without a house to charge off, the advantages are far less

I rarely go 300 miles and if I do, I find a level 3 charger between 250-300 and I charge for 30 minutes. While charging I go for a walk or get something to eat.


Now if your taking monthly trips over 500 miles one way, then gas powered is gonna be more efficient and make more sense

Smoother ride depends on the model and isn't an issue for most consumers, especially given the # of SUV's on the road.
Unmatched acceleration is another irrelevant topic as every new car has plenty of acceleration for what is needed.
No fill ups at gas station isn't an issue at all. In and out in 5 minutes.
Time saved on weekly driving makes no sense.
Oil changes is another pointless topic, as is engine trouble/repair.....control units, batteries, door handles, alignment, are common known repairs for Tesla's, and they aren't cheap.

Travel over 300 miles is a major issue, especially given the unknown about the charging station infrastructure in the next decade.

I subscribe by paying $100 per month. I think you can now buy for $6,000. One thing I don't like about Tesla is the constant changing (lowering) of prices which screws the people who paid more for the same exact thing.

I don't know what your parents model is capable of, but I have a 2023 Model S and the FSD on it will drive the car wherever you want to go. You have to be sitting in the driver's seat and keep your eyes on the road (or it will lock you out after a couple of warnings). You also need to make sure it doesn't make mistakes, but it has gotten a lot better in the last couple of years.

I think they liked the idea of the functionality of going to Kroger at a certain age you shouldn't be on the road and getting there and back unassisted.
