Another mock draft (1st round) UK with 5

I would LOVE to see Booker go to OKC to pair with Durant, Westbrook and Donovan. That would be a scary trio if everyone stays healthy next year. Could you imagine how many open shots Devin would get with Westbrook and Durant drawing defenders?

If 4 in the top 14 doesn't catch the attention of recruits then nothing will.

But I'm very surprised with Kelly Oubre as a #8 pick? His numbers were not very good on a very mediocre team

For a second I thought op was talking about next years draft and I was like you gotta be kidding.

Twins made a bad decision leaving, as did Johnson.

The Twins made the right decision for themselves. They were not going to raise their stock by returning another year. In fact...if they returned more of their weaknesses might be exposed & they fall further in the draft.

Dakari...the same thing as with the twins.

Best of luck to the twins, but I'm really excited about a ulis/briscoe backcourt.

Wrong. They made the right decision. All three of those guys have seen their stock do nothing but drop since they left high school (when they were each ranked No. 1 at their position). The handwriting was on the wall--the longer they stayed in school the less interested the NBA was in them--it was time to leave while they can still get drafted at all.

The 80s called. They want their CBA back.

BTW, do you know what you call an NBA role player? Successful and wealthy.

Meanwhile, RocketMan101 hammers away at his keyboard as if role players in the NBA don't make millions of dollars every year.
He's going to s*** if they all pan out to be very successful. Whoever will he troll?

I'll have to see Dakari go in the 1st round to believe it. I would be mad if my favorite NBA team took him in the 1st round. I would feel that it was a wasted pick.
I like him since he was at UK, but I don't see any upside to his game. I don't see the twins being successful NBA'ers either.

The thing about Dakari is you're going to get a role player with good size who knows his limitations and works hard on getting better. Staff asked him to lose weight and he really slimmed down. Doubt he'll ever be an all star but I think he can have a long career in the league being a guy that sets picks, rebounds, doing the dirty work. I see him having a career like Collison with the Thunder.

just don't see Dakari as a first round guy. He's getting drafted on size alone if it happens. I think Andrew sneaks into the first round before Dakari does.

Andrew should be a first round pick. He improved by leaps and bounds this year in a lot of areas that he needed to, the fact that he's being so overlooked is just crazy to me.

Dakari is a second round talent, but might go first round because of his size. If he puts in the time to really improve his footwork, he could be a solid back-up big man in the league for years.

I'll never forget Aaron and all of his insane shots in March, but I have a feeling that he'll be the one sweating it out on draft night.

I agree about Andrew. People often lump "the twins" together but Andrew really surprised me the last half of the season. His play showed a lot of intelligence, he made some excellent passes, and he finished at the rim about a billion times better than in 13-14, when he would have just tried to put up a circus shot in hopes of drawing a foul. I really thought he played like a first rounder the last half of the year.

There is no doubt that "4 in the top 14" will catch the attention of recruits. The question is, will they say, "Wow, look at how many Kentucky guys got drafted in the top 14 of the NBA draft", or will they way, "Wow, Kentucky couldn't win the NCAA championship with 4 of the top 14 NBA draft picks" ... ???

Seriously doubt Booker would be playing. You can almost guarantee that he will be DL bound to get used to the adjustment. Prob the same for the rest if them except Townes and maybe WCS.

Agree with most of what your saying. I wouldn't take Dakari first round as he is too much of a project to warrant a guarantee contract. He is a 50/50 guy on if he is going to be a pro or out if the league in 2 yrs.
Andrew did Improve a great deal just between the first half of this past season and the last half. I think a lot of that was due to Ulis being in the game and Andrew having more of the mindset of looking for his shot. He started getting some confidence in his shot and it opened up the game more for him. His D really improved especially on guarding smaller quicker guys. He still really struggles with it but not as bad as he was his freshmen year. I think Andrew would more than likely be a top half of the second round draft pick kind of guy. To many unknowns to guarantee him money. Aaron would be lower half of 2nd round to undrafted. For a 2 guard his shot is simply not their consistently.
Who knows in the league as he tends to shoot 5 ft behind the line anyways so he just might stay a 30% shooter from 3. Lol

I think both would have been better served to come back another year. Weaker draft next year and time to improve their game. Seems like everybody and their mama come out this year.

Trey Lyles will spend minimal time in the D-League along with Karl and most likely WCS. Everyone else will spend a while there.

I just hope the Twins get drafted period.

Seven drafted would be a another great feather in our UK caps.

No team has ever had 7 guys drafted in the same draft.

When I clicked the link what jumps out to me is Ronda Rousey wants to use a dating service. Heck I'd take her.

Johnson is 7 foot tall someone will draft him. And after watching Kendrick Perkins play I'm even more sure there is a spot for him in the nba.

Johnson will be a bust, Stein will be a role player at best. Harrisons will end up in the cba,
I hate to say it, but I agree with you about Stein. It isn't because Stein doesn't have the skills; it is because he doesn't appear to really have a passion for the game. He will do just enough to bounce around from team to team which will allow him to receive an NBA pay check for a few years. He reminds me to much of Javale McGee.

Yep, and there's nothing we can do about it now so naturally let's trash them.

Good lord, some of our fans are insufferable.

I don't think it's trashing, it's just stating facts. If you're not projected to get drafted, common sense says you probably shouldn't enter the draft.

In regards to the Harrison twins, i don't get the people who say they made the right decision. They're already projected as going undrafted, it's not like their stock is gonna drop any more if they come back to school for another year. Nobody knows, they could have a break out season and work their way into the early 2nd round. Plus i don't think next year's draft will be as strong.

I think Andrew gets drafted and even agree that he could sneak into the first round. Dakari is in same boat for me. And definitely rooting for Aaron...hoping all turns out well for him and he proves he has what it takes to make it at the next level.

Would be interesting if Miami take Willie Cauley to see if he could learn from Chris Bosh and if he could develop more on the offensive end.

We are talking about the #25 pick. The guys at the end of the 1st round don't typically turn into starters. Most don't even become rotation players.

Here's a list of the #25 picks since 2010: Dominique Jones, Marshon Brooks, Tony Wroten, Reggie Bullock, and Clint Capella. That's about what teams can expect out of a late 1st rounder.... so you take a risk on a 7-footer and hope you can use him as a backup down the road a bit.

I think they all have a shot at hearing their names called, except for Aaron. He is billed as a shooting guard, he doesn't make enough shots.
Can't help but appreciate the couple of big shots he made while here, but the ball just doesn't, or at least hasn't to date, gone through the net on a consistent enough basis.

Aaron has to show he can do more than just shoot jumpers, but I'm pulling for him to get in a good situation.
Andrew is going to get drafted; he's got terrific size.
Dakari is the unknown to me; does he show enough this week?

And remember how we were shocked that Archie Goodwin was picked 29 by OKC?

I think the Twins will play better once they aren't each others crutch. They will get with their new respective teams and grow from being apart. They will indeed make and NBA roster and I believe they will both play there for a good amount of years.
