All kidding aside, there is no way Stoops can bring Rich back is there ?

How many possessions did we get in the third? We had a 99 yard TD drive against the best defense in the nation and two others that should've had points but for poor execution.

Sorry the offense looked good today. Didn't realize that would upset so many posters.
“But for poor execution”

“Looked good today”

Lmao think about what you just said

I don't use the "ignore feature." Because I'm not a p***y
Just don’t care for opinions that have any relevance or intelligence. You can consider his but I’m done. It’s frustrating to keep on with someone to post with an agenda without a clue. Call me what you want, I promise, I’m not that. Way past the name calling.

On two plays. One was a snap (again) other was a poor read by the QB. Overall product was really good especially considering the competition
Dude....are you serious

1. We played much better today considering the competition but it was still a subpar day. We scored 6pts and had 1 Int. Granted kicker left 3 pts on the table again which isn't Scang's fault. BUt all in all, we continue to do the same old nonsense that throttles drives.
- The constant screen game and complete lack of execution is all on Scang. We can't get our WR to block a sole all year which is vital for screen game to work. So, why have it still in playbook?
- Where was the QB run all year? Levis may be healthier, but it was no in playbook early in season when he was fine.
- 2 more motion penalties on his unit. Such an undisciplined squad
- First drive it's 2nd and 1 and he takes CRod off field and tries to run McClain on middle runs.....just dumb.
2. The guy has been awful.....today changes nothing. USC hangs 63 on Tennessee....we were a mess vs. a bad defense. How many data points do we need to understnd the offense just was never good enough unil
3. FInally, we lose CRod and Levis off this team. How is 2023 going to be a good enough year to keep him? It's impossoble for me to see him come back.

So we just handwave those two plays and say a 6 point, 295 yard day was “really good.”

Good grief man, if your expectations were any lower, they’d be underground.

Shouldn’t be shocking. This is just a continuation of the job performance Scang has done everywhere he’s been. He’s a C-/D+ kinda guy.

I don’t think he’s well suited for the college game. He calls plays like he has NFL personnel and depth at every position. IMO he’s a paycheck guy…shows up, calls the plays, but doesn’t really know his team strengths and weaknesses at all.

It seems to me that if stoops wants to have any semblance of an offense again that Scangarello has to go. It could be a mass exodus if he doesn’t. Let me remind everyone, Scangarello has has like 16 jobs in the last 20 years. So the guy shouldn’t have a problem being moved out. He has an awful track record and he ruined this season. Talked a big game just couldn’t back it up. Disappointing but that’s the business
But but but his qb camp…..

That’s literally all he has going for him. Every team and offense he was at was subpar.

I truly believe he is a great mind from a fearing uo plays and the details of the position standpoint….nerdy stuff.

I don’t hung he has the feel for the game. Those are 2 different things and you need both to be a successful coordinator

I been saying it for 6 damn weeks. If he was any good at his job he wouldn’t have been fired from Denver and if he had his next best offer wouldn’t have been made by mark stoops. He is a position coach at best. That is his ceiling. He is a terrible play caller. You can be a great coach and know the game inside and out but if you can’t get play calling rhythm going than it doesn’t matter. He is a QB coach nothing more, nothing less.

Well said. I feel like at times he was just guessing out there.

And this falls on stoops for hiring him in the first place. If one has never been a successful play caller why in the hell hire them to be yours. Stoops is so far out of touch on the offensive side of things it is maddening. Honestly think he would rather lose a game 16-6 than win a 48-41 type game. It’s just who he is.

Will never forget, I believe it was his 2nd year here commenting after the game about scoring on a 75 yard TD pass on the 2nd play play from scrimmage at some point during the game. Something to the effect of “well you obviously like to see that but the downside is your defense has to turn around and go right back on the field”.

I don’t think stoops influences the playcalling anymore. I think he used to but not anymore. This dude just sucks and I bet stoops is as stunned as we are at how inept he is.

I mean you can disagree and that’s fine. But I would challenge you to show proof that stoops dictates the offense and you won’t be able to.
This. Hard to have a solid opinion until we know WTF is going on. And I stopped asking the question last year because we were fairly successful last year.

Agreed, not only did Stoops hire him UK is paying him like $750k with a $1mil buyout for next year. This blunder is going to cost UK a fortune!

Yup. That's why he will be back next year as the OC. Barnhart would never pay that buyout.
