Previous seasons don't have any bearing on this current season. UGA controlled their own destiny and lost. Who were you keeping out to put UGA in? Michigan? Not the answer because they just beat Bama. Texas? You can't realistically have Bama in and leave Texas out when Texas won head to head. Washington? You're not leaving out 2 undefeated P5 champions to put in an SEC championship loser. Plus they're looking pretty damn good in their semi right now.

UGA shouldn't have gotten into the playoff. They might be the best team, but they didn't deserve a shot at a title. The best team not getting a shot at the title isn't exactly a rare thing in sports, it happens all the time.

Penix is a much better QB than Milroe and has better weapons. They don't run it, which is a strength of Michigan's D, though Michigan's back end is good too.

It should be a fun championship if that's the matchup.
