Aaron thinks Duke and louisville are still the ones to beat . He does think Kentucky has definitely got into the mix and nate would be a great fit. Also stated slimeball cal trying to get in on his recruitment. good informative information about nate ament

Whenever I think of Cal and him trying to get in on everything that Pope does:

Whatever happens, happens.
If aaron is right about nate holding out until April to see how the teams recruiting him shake out . I have to think it benefits Kentucky with our need for a big wing . I think Kentucky is right dead in the mix for this kid and if it lingers to April this has to be a good sign for us . Come on down nate feel the love

I think it favors Duke.
"Seeing how things shake out" is basically him waiting on stay/go decisions.
UK and UL really don't have any early entry players on their roster.
Waiting on those decisions tells me he wants to go to Duke as long as it's not too crowded.

I care and we need 3 or 4 of these athletes a year to blend in with our portal players and our need for a big wing also makes nate a big priority . If you care about recruiting at a high level you better care . Nate come on down

If he's going to hold out until the very end I say we play along, and then take someone else.

Of course it would be good if UK had some continuity with at least 7-8 returning players every year but I'm not sure you can do that with 5-star recruits. Most 5 star recruits expect to start and are NBA players a year later if they do start(and maybe if they don't start). At least the ones from out of state that don't start and aren't draft picks are now more likely to transfer than return.

In my opinion, UK shouldn't recruit five stars not from Kentucky unless our coaches expect them to start. I'm thinking if UK doesn't sign any more five star recruits they'll still have 1 or 2 freshman starters. I really don't want to go back to seeing 3 or more freshmen starting. Maybe I'll change my mind if Duke wins it all this year to "it don't matter at all" but for now I'd rather sign a big time portal player at the wing instead of another freshman.

Cal and his crew were in to see his game last night. Going to make a push. We’ve seen Cal close these deals late before.

The only way he makes an immediate impact here is if we have other greats around him to take the weight off of his shoulders. After fifteen years I have learned that, unless the guy is a once a generation type player, depending upon freshmen is a recipe for failure.
