A week long "in person" recruiting dead period begins today (4/3/25)

Meaning coaches can have no in-person contact or host prospects on visits during this time. This will continue until the end of the day on April 10. Only Zoom and phone contact is allowed with recruits during this dead period.

I assume travel arrangements, etc. why the rule is in place? Now that’s anyone’s guess. Seems silly that it’s right near the beginning of the portal opening. I’d get it if it was next month (kids trying to finish up classes etc) but it’s odd.

that's actually a good point. Other than fans, and students who actually like to play basketball or cheer for it, no one would really miss it should it be eliminated. Students by and large are there to study and party.

We haven’t crushed it during the contact period so the non contact period doesn’t fill me with confidence honestly. I really really hope we are putting some eggs in late entrants that we may know about or NBA draft returnees that may move.

Dent is a west coast guy, so he chose to stay close to home.
Gwath took a pay cut to stay at SDSU so he must really like being there.
