The key to our chances of winning this game is Poythess and Lee staying out of foul trouble and that probable isn't going to happen.
Kansas is looking terrible lately, you guys might actually pull this off.
But make no mistake, just because like 5 of us post over here doesn't make this a Superbowl. Give me a break.
Sure it is. UK being in town is the most exciting thing that has happened in Lawrence since the "Who Has the Tallest Cornstalk" competition.

Not taking anything away from Kansas. They are a good basketball team, deserving of a high ranking. But the entire Big 12 is overrated, and I also think Kansas is a little bit overrated. Their guards are not very physical, and their bigs aside from Ellis have been underachievers. The intangibles in this game certainly favor Kansas. The best thing Kansas has going for them is that Allen Fieldhouse is 1 of the toughest places in the country for a visiting team to play. Also, Kansas will have a chip on their shoulders because we blew them out last year. Kansas has more depth than we do. But Kansas will have their hands full with Murray and Ulis. If we get a strong game from Poythress and our guards, and if we win the turnover battle, we can be competitive. Obviously, in order to win, we would have to play our best game of the year.If the Zebras give UK a fair shake I like our chances.
That however is a BiG IF....
I want to argue this but there isn't a specific regular season game that stands out. UNC at Rupp with the title team was pretty special. And last year demolishing KU and UCLA by a billion combined points was pretty impressive. But none of those were on the road at an extremely tough place to win like Allen Fieldhouse.Sheww. That place will be praying for Blue Blood to spill come Saturday. Would be the greatest reg season win of Cals tenure at Uk if he pulled that off.
Eddie?I have a better chance of waking up with my head sown in the carpet than KU winning a title this year.

No, the game will still 40 minutes long, unless, of course, Bill Self's team runs out of time. If that happens I fully expect the ghost of Allen Fieldhouse will find a way to add some time on the clock.Going to be a long game if Poy & Lee get into foul trouble.
What does "who's favored" In a single year have to do with UK being your super bowl. Your players are going to want to win this game more than any game of their season. It definitely your super bowl.
That's why you stay here.
Obviously you guys are not among those teams for who playing UK is their "superbowl", and I hate that phrase BTW, but given last year's result and the two losses in the 2012 season, I think it basically puts you guys in that group for this season.
Just can't agree. We're favored, we're higher in the polls and the computers. How that can equate to "superbowl" is nonsense from our POV
Now, personally, I want to win this game more than any this year before March. Kentucky-Duke-UNC will always, no matter how good or average they are, be in that category for me.
Any early line on the game? I'm thinking KU -4.5.
I would think it is in that ball park as well, maybe 3.5 to 4Any early line on the game? I'm thinking KU -4.5.
You can throw Pomeroy and Sargarin out the window right now because those are based on numbers from UK's entire season. It doesnt factor in that UK as of today is a completely different team than UK of 2 weeks ago.
Mods on the UNC boards blacklist you as soon as they find out you aren't a UNC fan. It's crazy how sensitive they are.I'm here because you guys care a lot about college basketball, like we do. There aren't many schools who care this much. Oh, and I was on the UNC board for about 10 min, asked a question they didn't like, got the boot. They are the biggest babies on the planet.
Great point. This weekend could go a long way in determining the success of the SEC in the Tournament this year, whether it be getting some potential bubble teams some huge wins (Vandy @ Texas, Oklahoma @ LSU, West Virginia @ Florida) or improving the seed lines of Kentucky (@KU) and Texas A&M (v. Iowa State). HUGE weekend for the SEC.Ulis has exceeded my expectations. I'd take him over any other PG, Any of them. As it's shaping up this has all the makings of a very competitive, intense, high energy game. It could end up being a classic. Like the KU/OU game was. A game like this is why a lot of these guys come to both places. To play in big games against the best. I expect both teams to play well, but if KU doesn't want to I'm OK with that.
I'd also really like to see the SEC take at least 6 of these games. 3 of them are huge out of conference games. This whole B12/SEC challenge, and particular the timing of it is a great idea. Hope we hold up our end. It'd be nice to have bragging rights over supposedly the best conference this year, and KU.

I don't like either of your programs but I LOVE that KU has ended Roy Williams' seasons at UNC three times now. Has to feel good. I know it does to do the same to Pitino and Louisville twice now.At the FInal Four 2008 after we waxed them by 18, they were all trying to check out of our hotel. (Unbeknownst to me, we had booked at a UNC hotel) They were all in their belvoed sky-blue windshirts and complaining loudly to clerks about breaking their 4-day minimum stay requirement so they could go home early. Hey, the 4-day deal : we all knew going in. But they were just crying like brats demanding their way.
It was so great watching the manager telling a large group of them to go pound sand.
