My logic is/was purely of trajectory: look at each programs’ trajectory since 2016.
No one can rationally argue that basketball is not more successful than football the last 100 years, but those lines look blurry when considering football’s growth since 2016, and basketballs’ drop since 2015.
I think Stoops should offer an olive branch to Cal and host a Big Blue football getaway at the beautiful shores of Lake Cumberland for a weekend for the fans who couldn't fit the Bahamas trip into their schedule. For $200 you get a campsite, everybody brings a dish, a couple of games of touch football with fans and then you give the proceeds to help build the basketball facility.
Oh, this sounds like fun......and so nice.

What happened in 1977 or 1998 won't bring a single dollar or a single player to Kentucky in 2022. That is the key fact that all the "basketball school" posters are failing to understand. The past is important, but it is not nearly as important as the future.
Today, the AD is telling you that Kentucky is not a "basketball school" or a "football school". Kentucky is an everything school. As it goes, I have always agreed with that. But for anyone who doesn't agree with it, or doesn't like the AD, too bad. Barnhart sets the athletics agenda. Like it, or don't like it. It is Barnhart's athletics department and has been since 2002. Barnhart calls the shots, and Barnhart will clarify that for Cal and everyone else. For people who can't accept that, feel free to cheer for someone else. Taking cheap shots at Barnhart behind an alias on the internet will not change a thing. But if that behavior makes you feel better, then you need a new hobby. UK sports is what Barnhart says it is. Accept it or find something else you can support in your better moments of conscience. Seriously, everyone.

Stoops has a lot more goodwill built up than Calipari. If anybody leaves it won't be Stoops.

UK is a basketball school and he is very much admired by fans and rivals. Stoops has done a very good job with football and hope he stays at UK for 10 plus years.

It was a dumb comment by Cal. If he apologized I missed it, I'm sure there was a private phone call to smooth it over. Still it's game week, I think it's time to move on
The question is how many would the Football team have if they got the Equal support that Basketball has gotten For the last 8 decades?
Basketball has dropped a bit and football has risen but basketball had nowhere to go but down when you look at the first half Cals tenure. Conversely, football team had nowhere to go but up when compared to Stoops early teams.
The good news is that both programs look primed to have excellent years. I haven't felt this good about a Kentucky basketball team since the Fox, Monk, Bam team. And our football team may be the best we've had since Stoops has been here, which is saying a lot
Probably, but football had a hard time earning the support basketball has when we went 2-10 every year.
like how they gave hoops more $$ for recruiting 3-4 players and for Madness when they gave less money for recruiting 25 football players in total $$$

Recent history hasn't done much better them 2-10 with many more games played and twice the support
Everything Cal said was the truth because we are a basketball school.
