They seem to be coaching down to the level of competition too. Playing calling so far has been a head scratchier.
On the plus side our week one opponent is currently leading Cincinnati by 10
We've got two manageable opponents this week and next to unscrew our run game and OL play. We better be about the business improving dramatically.
OL did great in the second half at the Swamp. Guess they got left down there.
Cincy was favored by 23 and I was like nooooooo way I’m touching that line lol
Imo they're trying to work on the run game. It's a good idea. I would just feel better if we waited till we had the game under control.
This seems to be a big problem so far this season. We break the huddle too late to check out of the called play. Levis has got to be better at picking up what the defense is doing and change into something better, it’s his biggest weakness.
This. Crush your enemy first. Then work on new battle tactics.
Fools gold. UF's d-line depth is thin and they were gassed. Part of the reason Sunbelt Billy went for it on fourth down in our territory twice.
I wouldn't say they are getting manhandled. They are whiffing big time a lot of the time. Horsey let one by earlier in the drive. Barely making contact. Reminds me when my son had to play tackle when he was clearly a guard and not fast enough to play tackle. If he could get a hold of the DE, fine but a lot of the time would come up with air.
Our defense is on point. Our offense leaves a lot to be desired.
I think it's more that they are trying to get better at what we aren't good at during this week and next week's games. And hopefully it gets better. It's not unusual for us to win games with D but this O has way more potential than what we've had in past seasons...just gotta hope the line gets up to speed.
With they way we're playing against YSU, we might be well served to go deep into our backup linemen in the second half to see if we have better options on the bench.

Yes....and you see a lot of 'choosing the wrong guy to block' and that sort of stuff going on with this group. Guy on the end may block down and leave the outside defender unblocked when there was nobody on the inside to go block type of stuff.
And I’m fine with that. But you wait until you get up a couple of scores before you do that.
There is nothing wrong with working on the run game, but how about using the parts that are working like running to the right side. When the defense shift to compensate that will loosen up things to the left.
