Only 6 in 5 games so far. This is unacceptable. Some of it is on the dline, some of it is the lack of cahonas by the staff
I think your right. That’s fair take and I’m not sure why.Only 6 in 5 games so far. This is unacceptable. Some of it is on the dline, some of it is the lack of cahonas by the staff
Yep inside the 20 twice in the last couple minutes down 3 and came away empty both times. We were missing one of our best defenders (Weaver)
we had a huge INT (and dropped 2 others)
we didn’t give up a TD after the first quarter.
we played the game we needed to play on defense to win the game
Our special teams sabotaged us and our offense blew it at the end.
Jordan Wright is an enigma to me . He seems to have every single tool needed to be an extremely good edge rusher, but he just isn’t.Been saying it all year. Defense does not pressure the QB at all. No edge rushers that scare teams.
I have personally heard Josh Allen giving Brad White credit for developing his pass rushing development. However, imo Boogie Watson, Jordan Wright, and JJ Weaver have all been disappointing as far as rushing the passer goes . What the heck ?Been saying it all year. Defense does not pressure the QB at all. No edge rushers that scare teams.
And 3 of the games were against non P5 teams .Only 6 in 5 games so far. This is unacceptable. Some of it is on the dline, some of it is the lack of cahonas by the staff
Agree. White has been good. No issues as far as his coaching. Just doesn't have the horses in certain spots.I have personally heard Josh Allen giving Brad White credit for developing his pass rushing development. True but we still had no sacks and no pressure on their qbWe were missing one of our best defenders (Weaver)

I'll answer my own question.Has Kentucky ever had more sacks than the opponent this year? Genuinely curious.
I’d be willing to bet we are near the bottom of the FBS in sack differential.I'll answer my own question.

Big time heart doesn’t win games. Execution does.Yep inside the 20 twice in the last couple minutes down 3 and came away empty both times.
Helluva football game though.
This team has big time heart.
Fair assessment -- But I'd like occasional pressure to A) surprise the other team and keep them honest B) maybe force a TO C) if A and / or B occur we might not be in such close games at the very end ? Yesterday the D was money in half 2 .. We sucked the air out of their passing game , but man we got shredded in half 1 .. just torn up .We were missing one of our best defenders (Weaver)
we had a huge INT (and dropped 2 others)
we didn’t give up a TD after the first quarter.

I agree we need more sacks.
I agree Weaver would have helped in that regard.
BUT
Ole Miss has only allowed two sacks this season. Two! They are pretty good and the play calling gets the ball out fast which helps.

I’d save the hand wringing for 0 sacks against SCAR and MSU (ranked 10th and 9th). That would be under performing against weaker competition.
Stoops!!!Only 6 in 5 games so far. This is unacceptable. Some of it is on the dline, some of it is the lack of cahonas by the staff
No. That's perfectly acceptable.Only 6 in 5 games so far. This is unacceptable. Some of it is on the dline, some of it is the lack of cahonas by the staff
I wish Scang and Yenser would come up with a similar game plan. I'm not confident either knows what they're doing. We are not scheming around our weaknesses so I expect more of the same. So far both hires have been underwhelming IMO.I agree we need more sacks.

I don't think any of them possessed anything to approach Allen's total package, including technique.I have personally heard Josh Allen giving Brad White credit for developing his pass rushing development. However, imo Boogie Watson, Jordan Wright, and JJ Weaver have all been disappointing as far as rushing the passer goes . What the heck ?
I’ve personally heard Josh Allen give Brad White credit for improving his technical skills between his Junior and Senior years .I don't think any of them possessed anything to approach Allen's total package, including technique.
That probably says as much about our O line not protecting and our QB holding the ball too long as it does about our Defense.I'll answer my own question.

I know White can lead a horse to water. But he can't make one drink, and sometimes, you don't have a horse in the paddock in the first place.I’ve personally heard Josh Allen give Brad White credit for improving his technical skills between his Junior and Senior years .
True , and I’m not saying our guys should be playing like Josh Allen . I’m just saying Its puzzling why we haven’t been better with our edge rushers than what we have been .I know White can lead a horse to water. But he can't make one drink, and sometimes, you don't have a horse in the paddock in the first place.
