I suspect Carolina is on A Mission. Do the Zags wake up at some point and realize they're in the championship game? On one hand Carolina has found ways to win, against both UK and Oregon, different players stepping up. Good sign for them. On the other, they tried to give that game away last night, and Oregon wouldn't take it.

BTW, About 3 weeks ago Roy reached the exact age Dean Smith was when he announced his retirement. That kind of thing would be important to Roy. My guess: Heels win tomorrow, the NCAA concludes its business to an extent that allows Roy to justify leaving and he retires later this year.

Gonzaga may somehow win (doubtful) but I can almost guarantee if they do it wont be a blowout win.

I just got a feeling that the Zags have this chip on their shoulder and UNC is the perfect opponent to feed into that. They've definitely proven they belong. UNC had to play one hard game the entire tournament.

And who has Gonzaga had to play? I want the Zags to win as bad as anybody but let's not be delusional, it's not like they've played ANYBODY. This may be the easiest road to the Finals that I've ever seen.

I like Gonzaga. Part of it is karma...UNC's luck runs out and the mid major darling gets their day in the sun. Wouldn't say that unless the mid major darling had a heckuva team. SC played great and still couldn't beat them. GU has size, good guard play, and a smart coach. They can bang with NC inside.

Zags have played 11 games against ncaa tournament teams. They are 11-0. They have a 3-0 record against the sec. They have beaten the big-12 tourney champs. They have beaten the pac-12 regular season champs. They have a 2-0 record against the pack -12. They are 1-0 against the big-10. They are 1-0 against the big east. Whether you like it or not the Zags can play and are in the nation championship game.

I'm sorry but you're facts are very misleading here. Saying that they're 11-0 vs NCAA tourney teams is misleading cause 5 of those wins have come in the tournament. Their SOS was ranked 102nd in the nation and they almost lost a #1 seed because they simply hadn't played anyone during the season. I'm not trying to discredit them at all because I think they're legit and a very good team, I'm just saying that it's impossible to give them credibility simply on who they have played. They may be undefeated against those conferences but they also haven't played the top teams of those conferences except Arizona and you could possibly say WVU. Other than that, they haven't played the top tier teams of those conferences.


Again, I'm not trying to discredit the Zags at all. I just find it hard to gauge their credibility based on who they have played. I base their credibility on that team and their roster. Mark Few has been able to bring in top talent to Washington and continue to build a quality program. That Collins kid is legit and is going to be a star at gonzaga. I doubt he goes pro but he probably could be OAD. They're recruiting national now and it's incredible to see it happen for a school like Gonzaga. I imagine they will continue to build their SOS in the years ahead, especially their out of conference schedule. I wouldn't be surprised to see them jump to the PAC-12 at some point. They're legit and I hope they kick the shit out of UNC on Monday. But they haven't faced a team like UNC this year, not even close and it will be a big challenge.
