You are right, but figure those numbers based on time of possession and # of plays ran per game. Less plays = less yards per game. Fact is, they ran for more than 5 yards per carry, so safe to say IF they would have ran more plays and opponents did not control time of possession, they would have ran for a lot more yards per game. UK had ZERO passing game, so they was not on the field to win T.O.P, and teams stacked the box against the run, and UK STILL averaged over 5 ypc. See how that works ? Your point is flawed, mine is based on facts. If the team had a more balanced offense (able to pass a little), and was able to sustain drives longer, they would have had more carries. Example, if they had 10 more rushing attempts per game, 10 x 5.34 per carry = 53.4 more yards per game rushing. Now the rushing yards per game changes greatly. They would have been a lot higher than 81st. With JUST the RB's total of 1388 yards for the year, divided by 12 games, that is 1115.66 per game, add the 53.4 yards from the extra carries, it now becomes 169.06 per game.
