Yet again, Cats come up big at "winning time"

Bottom line is UK didn't come to play. I think Stoops made a mistake in shying away from the emotional aspect of what happened off the field with Barker. I understand where Stoops was coming from but when UK came out flat and EKU came out hitting and trash talking, Stoops should've encouraged a little more emotion. There is no hiding the fact that it was a failure for 3 1/2 quarters.

The good news is that Patrick Towels and Dorian Baker wouldn't let the Cats lose late. Also kuddos for Shannon Dawson for seeing what was working and letting the guys make plays to win the game. I do think the depth of UK wore EKU down in the 4th quarter. Yes, it sucks that UK didn't blow EKU out but there is more parity in college football than ever before. EKU has several quality D1 transfers as do many FCS teams. Jacksonville State had Auburn beat earlier this year. Also what FBS would want to play North Dakota State? I'm not trying to sugar coat UKs piss poor effort but teams have to come to play against lesser opponents. If not, you wind up like Arkansas. Heck even LSU got pushed against Eastern Michigan and Ohio State damn near lost to Northern Illinios at home.

As bad as it was, UK found a way to win. In past years I have no doubt that UK loses this game. If UK is going to crap the bed in a game you want it to be against a tea, like EKU. I do have to address the fans. Yes I know it was cold. Yes I know the team played like shit. Yes I know you were frustrated (we all were). But.....half the stadium left. We gotta be better fans than that. Stoops deserves better for what he's done for us. I know BBN will show out against Auburn. If UK can win that one I expect a solid 10k following to Stark Vegas. In he end, the team gets a mulligan, so I'll give the fans a mulligan. If we expect the team to not let that happen again, let's not empty out the stadium like that again either.

Come on folks. Be realistic. This was EKU. The game should never have been in doubt. If this team truly has the kind of talent that people believe they have then this game should have been over in the first quarter. So if the talent exists then it is obvious that the coaching does not. It is as simple as that. If Coach Stoops can't motivate this team to play well enough against EKU to have this game out of reach before half time then maybe it is time to start thinking about getting a new coach. This game was not only disappointing, it was very disturbing as well.

Respectable is going to overtime against EKU?

I swear, some of you are certifiably insane to take a desperate OT win against EKU as a positive thing. It was probably the worst UK football game I've seen in 30 years. That is actually how awful the coaching and playing was vs. EKU.

If UKErik says it, it's ok with some of you. But if me or other UK fans say it, we are somehow debbie downers.

Wake up.....the playing, attitude, and coaching was horrendous against a pathetic, outmatched EKU team. We have triple the talent level of EKU.

Nothing is positive about that dumpster fire on Saturday. Some of you seriously act like beating EKU at home in overtime is a "quality win".

Not even close to the worst UK game in the last 30 years. It wasn't even the worst game of the last 5 years, let alone 30 years.

I think Stoops uses this game as a wake up call for the team. Bottom line is that we thought we could win just by showing up. EKU was playing inspired because of the loss of one of their teammates. I'm just relieved to have have the W because a loss could've derailed most of the momentum built up this season. Now we only have to beat Vandy and Charlotte to go bowling. We are on track to have a special season so I don't understand the comments about Stoops not being a good coach. We've gotten better every season and if we end up with 7-8 wins this thing could really take off

Dude, I assume you are qualified to call someone "certifiably insane". If not, go look in the mirror. If you have not been around UK football long enough to see that we had the ability to overcome that late forth quarter deficit to pull out a win, then we didn't see the same game. We haven't had this ability, regardless of the opponent, in some time. I hope you have a sane day. Go Cats!!
