Yes or no: Does Stoops donate some of his Nine Million to NIL as other coaches have done ?

Nope. Stoops has desperately needed some positive press of any kind since the season ended, but we haven’t really heard a peep from him or the AD. If they were cooking up something like this, they’d be broadcasting it as a good PR campaign.

Yet those 3 did
Yet those 3 did
“NCAA rules prohibit coaches from making direct NIL donations, but Kelly will use a workaround by funneling his donation through the Tiger Athletic Foundation, a booster group that financially supports LSU athletics.”

UK needs structural/bureaucratic changes to make it the launder work. That doesn’t exist at UK to my knowledge.

Lots of discussion all over the internet on this topic for the last year but things are changing rapidly

Lmao. Yall still whining about the "pony up" comment?! How long has it been? Must.have.struck.a.nerve. to have been so effective and lasting.

Or true.

If yall want the players Georgia and Bama sign regularly the previous few years, the only option is to open your pocketbooks. Spend spend spend. You have a staff that has put you in the ballpark. Within a TD of Georgia on more than one occasion. We were just a few Jimmys and Joes from winning those games and everyone knows it.

Yet everyone is STILL whining about how much the coach is paid....

Here's the truth for ya, if you can handle reading it- UK is not Georgia. We're not Bama, UT, UF, or even Auburn, Ole Miss, or MSU. We're sure as sht not Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, or TA&M. We're not even Missouri. We're not even Vandy or USCj if you want to really compare.

This program has been bottom tier for a long time and only recently made a great run YEARS IN THE MAKING to crawl out of it.

1- UK has to pay MORE for its coach than other schools do, just to compete.
2- UK will have to pay MORE than EVERYONE ELSE for THAT PLAYER that everyone else wants, or they're NOT GETTING HIM.
3- UK will have to do that for EVERY key player until they PROVE they can win those games like the ones they've not quite finished against Georgia, UT, Bama, Auburn, etc.
4- UK is going to have to make itself a desirable FOOTBALL job OVER AND ABOVE the rest of the SEC in SOME RESPECT for the HC, DC, AND OC POSITIONS or they will lag WAY behind the programs that have already won national, conference, and division titles.
5- The offers will have to be so good and the contracts so strong in our favor as a result, that anyone wanting our coaches is going to have to pay us a SHT TON just to talk to them, not to mention hire them away.
6- The UK fans that want this to happen need to PONY UP and force the admin to STEP UP in every way like these other FOOTBALL FIRST programs HAVE STEPPED UP FOR YEARS on the marketing and player promotion level.

FFS we still DON'T EVEN HAVE A STADIUM with all the amenities as NICE AS PAPA JOHNS was when it was built. We don't go all out for the press in the press box or the on field media. We're still playing catch up to the other SEC schools at the top, when we need to lead them by 5-10 years in ways that we can.

You can have Mario Andretti driving a Yugo, a Civic, or a Maxima, but it's still gonna get its ask kicked in most races by a BMW even with just a decent driver. When you go up against a Formula One driver and vehicle, you need to have an advantage in multiple ASPECTS to win the race. At some point you need to have an even better vehicle and/or pit crew than the competition. That costs money.

The truth can suck. But it's still the truth.

Why should he follow any rules? Rules seem to be optional these days.
You don't have to follow the rules because you can launder it like all the links above explain, but the structure has to be created to do so. Until that happens, it's an apples-to-oranges comparison. Posters tilting at windmills. I recommend people read the actual articles instead of just the titles. Might get smarter on a new subject!

Mark Stoops clearly has contempt for the Kentucky fan base and the university. After collecting nine million dollars for one SEC win and for coaching a team that was ill-prepared, undisciplined and sluggish game after game, his response to the fans was basically, "get a life. You don't understand what you are talking about."

If he really wanted to turn this thing around, he'd first of all be on a full-time campaign to show the fans he hated losing as much as anyone, that he was humiliated by the product he put on the field, and that he'd do anything, including accepting a pay cut and putting some of his stolen salary back into the university.

Instead, it has been the same old Elmer Fudd mumbling about how "we will fix this" without showing any energy or humility or passion that would make anyone believe that will happen.

So, no. He apparently thinks his job is to beat Toledo and Ball State every year between trips to the bank.

Fifty.

Where was this back when CAL was actually doing this? Not a peep about it from you. Is that why you're so overly emotional here right now? Are you projecting onto Stoops the traits that were clear in Cal but which you ignored?

If you think he hasn't taken responsibility and doesn't hate losing. Isn't working hard trying to fix it, you're only seeing what you want to see, just like so many others, including those that NEVER supported him as HC here. I know you're more into basketball, so I don't take these comments from you that seriously. But it's time for Cat fans to look in the mirror with regard to football and ask themselves if they are being at all objective.

We sucked this year. He needs massive change to fix it. He'll be gone if he doesn't. He's not denying any of that. But NO football coach is going to cry and beg you for forgiveness for our first team not to make a bowl game in 9 years.

If yall had this passion when Cal was dragging ask for the past 3+ years, I'd not say a word about the ankle biting. After seeing this same anger and angst from basketball failure taken out on the football program for over 25 years, it's easy to recognize. It's still the same old Kentucky in that regard. The sky is always about to fall or falling, just like it was in 2018 when we struggled with CMU and lost at TA&M.

Calipari is long gone. Most of us are enjoying the Mark Pope era of basketball. To use Calipari as some sort of deflection from or defense of Stoops and that shameful, amateurish product he put on the field last year is....Weird.

To coin a phrase and regretfully so... "We are who we thought we were."

I know some of our fans are happy with 7-5 to 8-4 seasons when we get them and to a certain point, I am too if that because the norm. For it would mean that 10-2 or 11-1 would come from time to time with a shot at a national title. Given UK's history that is not the norm, and until the majority of the fanbase decides it has had enough, things will not change. Much of this mentality imo comes from being a basketball school first school. We for years have had a program that was the door mat of the SEC (with a couple of others) and accepted that, but with updated facilities and some success in the last 8 or so years before this year, we have now tasted a little success and want more. Mark Stoops did a decent job moving the needle but has stalled out and has gone as far as he can. It is time for a change and since we are paying big money for a football coach now, we could get a better coach and players going forward.
