Yenser a definite pink slip

Yes. If there was progression throughout the season, this wouldn't even be a post. But #7 isn't responsible for 70% of the sacks hes taken

I think he's gone too but for a different reason. I think stoops wants to move away from a total focus on wide zone and that's 100% what yenser wants. Just a change of circumstances.

OL play is a major step down but so did the experienced talent. Good at times, bad at times. Amplified by a QB who holds the ball way beyond what he should

Idk if it was lack of training or experience from last year or what but this has gotten out of hand. On multiple occasions burton just straight up didn’t touch anybody.
I don't think they gained anything from last year. I remember gamecock fans saying Wolford stunk. He was their Oline coach. I tend to believe it. Last year they didn't develop anyone. I am inclined to think Wolford was just collecting a paycheck. We've been spoiled with Schlarman.

Everybody blames it on Wolford but maybe they didn’t play these guys cuz they weren’t good and we don’t have the room for error to play you if you aren’t.

5 OF THE SACKS WERE ON LEVIS, ANYTIME WHEN A QB HOLDS ON TO THE BALL FOR A COUNT LONGER THAN 3 DESERVES TO BE SACK, ON 3 THE BALL SHOULD BE OUT OF YOUR HANDS EITHER THROW AWAY, OR GET OUT OF THE POCKET, I COUNTED 4 ON ALL SACKS BUT 1
Scant won’t let Levis run. Sacks are coverage sacks because receivers not getting separation or running proper routes

This. Just doesn't get through his progressions fast enough. Locks onto one receiver too long. Pocket presence is bad.

The lack of progress is most disturbing. Also, the lack of recognition is even MORE disturbing. Teams have ran all kinds of stunts up front and with their LB's that Yenser has NOT figured out even 9 games in.

NO EXCUSE for not teaching your players and producing BETTER results as the season progresses!!!!

We have a breakdown on almost every pass play. Watch the Georgia line and see what a clean pocket looks like. Even when Levis doesn't get sacked he has a tackle or guard pushed back right at his feet. Put Levis behind Georgias line and you would see how talented he is. Our line gets beat on almost every pass and its all not Levis fault.

I disagree. We are NINE games in and they still suck.

1) Bennet steps up to avoid the rush. Levis just holds it and eats a sack.

2) Bennet makes quick decisions and quick throws. Makes it very difficult to blitz. Levis takes forever to make reads..

OL needs to vastly improve and especially be more consistent. But our QB is as much of the problem as anyone when it comes to pass pro

The whole offensive staff need to go - would hate to lose Key, Brown and/or Dingle for this staff.
No, they don’t. 4 OC’s in 4 years isn’t a recipe for success. The offensive problems are 90% the OL fault. It’s drastically affected the playcalling and how defenses scheme for us. Maybe reassign Yenser and/or bring in someone to help co-coach the OL. Hit the portal hard to shore up some weaknesses. But these kids need some staff continuity.

Could be but Alabama's line hasn't exactly been to Bama's standard this year and you know there's talent there.

Levis has been a problem for the oline all year. His slow ability to find receivers and forced to work the pocket well you’re asking the oline to complete a task that’s more difficult bc of Levis. I’m not saying our oline is good but this forcing Levis in the pocket garbage is sure fire stupidity.

I agree we could lose brown and I don’t see Scangarello being all that appealing to a qb replacement or receiver transfer. Honestly I don’t want to experiment with the guy anymore. He lacks the ability to make quality coaching decisions and all the crying about yenser well it starts with Scangarello. We face serious regression if he’s around another year I fear

No my man you have it backwards. Scan put shackles on Levis and bogged down the offense. Whether it’s 4 in 4 years or 4 in 5 it’s obvious Scangarello doesn’t have the ability to be an oc. It’s his philosophy, preparation and play calling. That’s not going to change. He’s better off as a position coach somewhere. You don’t ruin a season like this by forcing round pegs into square holes and keep your job. I don’t want this guy rebuilding the offense. He is the least creative oc in memory at UK and that says a lot

Levis now -71 rushing yards after 380 last year. It’s clear Scangarello crapped the bed with will.

Same QB this year as last. He didn't suddenly become terrible with pocket presence. CRod stats are way down too. This line is bad and nobody is going to look good playing behind it. No where to step up in the pocket when your lineman is being pushed back on you. We are bad.

There are ways to compensate like moving Levis from the pocket and drawing up running plays for him. I’m not arguing how bad the oline is I’m saying there are tweaks that could be made to give them better success. You put your qb pack there and tell him to stand in the pocket, wait, never throw it away well that’s very predictable and lacks any shred of creativity. It’s awful coaching to not adjust and that’s what Scangarello does. Same crap every week

Agree with the post. The line if anything is getting worse not better. We have some drives that look good but the line loses focus throughout the game. horribly at times.
Yenser has to get the slip. OC is on a short leash if you ask me as well. Not sure how short. I would have thought by now that the big freshman would have started playing more. Hope he is ready for 2023.

Yeah....I get it we hated the way Wolford left UK....but he clearly is better Oline coach than Yenser. Yenser is a terrible. Stoops just hired some guys as they had NFL on their resume....and didn't see if they were actually good coaches.

I mean, Coen hired Yenser....

Don't think a 4th o line coach in 4 yrs is the answer. Let's get 5 SEC level starters next yr, somehow someway. Then we can judge. As it stands of the 5 we line up with we have Manning, Cox in the wrong spot, Horsey in the wrong spot, then 2 who have been G5 level play.

1. Mitch ain't going to let UK spend in portal to improve Oline
2. We lose Manning and Horsey....2 of the decent Oline...Flax is terrible and Burton isn't much better. Cox is decent as the year goes on.

So how in the world is next year Oline going to be much improved next year? Incremental improvements from getting Goodwin going and maybe Buford/John Young some out of nowhere. It just looks bleak and why keep Yenser?

Allegedly they could sell Horsey on returning for Covid 6th yr, to show the NFL he is a really good guard not a mediocre LT. Then somehow Goodwin makes a leap to be a starting LT, move Burton to C, Cox & Buford as guards, Wal as RT. Or Goodwin at RT & Wal at LT.

Doesn't look or sound great, definitely i agree! Not sure if we can find a starter or 2 in the portal.

But but but coen could do no wrong!

Haha, if Stoops goes to Auburn or Iowa i freaking hope Barnhart is smart enough to ask Coen's agent how much, & how many yrs guaranteed?

Speaking of O line & portal transfers....yearly rumor topic Walter Parks was featured prominently in end of half shenanigans in Clemson-Notre Dame game

If I’m Levis,(QB1 with no one threatening to take my position in a struggling offense) I’d roll out, scramble, run it whenever I felt it necessary. What are the coaches going to do, bench him? That’s just me. Maybe Levis has more confidence in the scheme than I would.

This is true . But I believe we should have seen some improvement as the season progressed. They are still making many of the same mistakes they have made all season. You can only blame Wolford for so long .
