Here we go……
what is the vegas spreadSadly I ‘know’ this is the type of game where we’d beat the holy hell out of Yale (or any like opponent). Thanks to Triple C these are truly 50-50 games now and everybody knows it. So sad how far that man has taken our program down over the past six years or so.
Probably, the only issue I saw was whether that team could have overcome the Hagans issue, they probably would haveSee that Evansville loss sucked but that team more than likely would made a very deep tourney run.
The Boston team….woof.
I think so. Of course sadly we will never know. But that team by seasons end was tough.Probably, the only issue I saw was whether that team could have overcome the Hagans issue, they probably would have
With what we have seen out of Cal in the second part of his tenure here, I refuse to believe he would have accomplished anything in the 2020 NCAAT. Seen too many red flags now.
Also easy to forget what a nightmare it was with Hagans in the Senior Night debacle and suspension that followed going into the Florida game where thankfully they figured out a way to win. But they were entering the SEC Tournament with Cal asking players if Hagans should get his spot back in starting lineup....and Covid hits.I agrée. People have used the covid thing to romanticize that team. They really weren’t that good. They finished like 30th in kenpom and were 20th or so in sagarin recent despite being 25-6. Most of their games were close and teams that win a lot of close games in the regular season usually don’t do well in the tournament. Guys get TOO comfortable in that scenario and start to tell themselves they can just win the games at the end and eventually dig too big a while to climb out of.
I think it was pretty obvious they weren’t the same team that lost to evansville and utah in that ugly stretch at the start of the season. But they DID just lose at home to a tennessee team that wasn’t going to make the tourney and needed a miracle come back to beat a very average florida team.
They had flaws that usually lead to an early exit as well such as not being a great rebounding team, mediocre point guard play, and only two players on the roster that you could depend on to play well more often than not.
I’m not going to say a run was impossible. I did really like how maxey seemed to play well when the stakes were highest. But as a likely 4 seed they were at best a trendy final four sleeper as opposed to a favorite as so many of our fans try to frame them.
Oh yeah...Sherlock Holmes akaCardsStink,Dubyah, JLoad has confirmed we're the same poster
@JLoad22
He's a joke...he waits until I'm not online and purposely misspells my name so I don't see it...couple other posters tagged me in...Honestly that would be an honor.
Cardsstink lol.

He's gone into hiding...I actually thought he had turned a corner lol. He was coming at Calipari for a few days then turned back. There’s at least a few Calipari loving mods that love them some cardsstink watch out.
And damn that has to be the most cringe name ever created. My 8 year old doesn’t even say stink anymore lol. Definitely a 55 year old that lives with his grandma - she hates dirty language

In my opinion, that team had a sweet 16 ceiling, too many red flags and not enough top shelf talent for Cal to win more than a couple tournsment games with.I agrée. Yep. Sag wheeler, shade CJ/Reeves since we typically only have 1 in at a time, matchup and extend the zone to on ball man on Wallaces catches, double Oscar when he gets a paint touchAnd if they are 4.0 smart will pack in a zone guard the one shooter on the floor and dare KY to hit some 3’s
I've never heard anyone say they were a favorite. Good guards equal good tournament runs . That's all our fans were hoping for. That team made like 80% from the free throw line. That wins a lot of games . Unheard of really. They were probably going to be a 3 seed.I agrée. People have used the covid thing to romanticize that team. They really weren’t that good. There have been plenty of people on here claim they were a favorite. And i mean to be fair, we had like the 5th or 6th best vegas odds but vegas doesn’t make the odds based on who actually has the best chance to win the thing.
I don’t know. I’m not sure it’s even out yet ?what is the vegas spread
Wait a second are there people on this board claiming we were not touted as a legitimate championships caliber team? Are you f with me?
We were a top 4 team preseason and hyped like crazy. We have a returning POY on our f roster.
The lengths some of you will go to defend this guy is INSANE.
Can you say what he did ? For some reason I can’t remember.Calipari the “great man” threw him under the bus after years of loyalty.
You spelled retarded wrong...you fully alright...I sure hope nobody here that old lives with their mom unless she's sick. I have never thought of that, but maybe some do. I fully retired in my 40's so what do I know, LOL. #PinchMe.

Post of the year.I can hear Cal in practice now:
"Just get the ball in bounds and someone go figure something out...."
If they catch you in the back seat trying to pick her locks, they're going to send you back to mother in a cardboard box.I'm concerned about the Yale game. I hear they have a LOCK DOWN defense...

This was a team that had he not platooned he was going to have problems with disgruntled players and it’s going to get worse the more Toppin plays for himself while several sit on the bench and watch.Cal sounded pretty shaky about the Yale game on his show tonight. His tone sounded as if we could very well lose. Can't remember his exact comments but I am not as confident in winning this game now. He still has a lot of figuring out about our team and apparently Yale has already got it figured out and will give us all we want and maybe more.
The comment about Livingston bothered me. Talking about needing to play him more he said 'will play him at the 3 and 2 and maybe a little at the 4.' Shouldn't he be Toppins backup? Shouldn't Reeves be the 3 with Thiero as his backup? He said Thiero does not do good in practice. As long as he produces in games why can't you go with him? If/when he doesn't play well in the game just sit him.
Thank you to the person that put Ugo's stats on here and how good they are when you figure in him getting more minutes. Cal may have heard about that because he referenced it also pointing out he is ranked high in blocks and hasn't played much. Said he was going to have to get him on the floor more.
Yeah, I remember him mentioning a few times about players mad about playing time. Did not realize there was issues like this going on. May explain why he plays Collins. Can't go wrong just playing your best 7 or 8. Being fair, you don't have to worry who is mad or not. This was a team that had he not platooned he was going to have problems with disgruntled players and it’s going to get worse the more Toppin plays for himself while several sit on the bench and watch.
The ones not playing are looking at next years roster as well and don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. Hope it doesn’t get ugly but it could very well.Yeah, I remember him mentioning a few times about players mad about playing time. Did not realize there was issues like this going on. Here's his GO Kitty zone being drawn up...

Yeah some weird stuff going on in the background with this team I can just feel it. The fact that Cal even makes a comment about Livingston playing the 2 is so absurd and you have to wonder about the Thiero comment and how he doesn't do well in practice. I would venture to say it's quite the opposite but Cal doesn't feel like he has to give him ANY minutes. I always thought it was quite clear thG Thiero just straight up looks like he knows what he is doing out there and plays a very mature game and most of all unselfish/effecient but he isn't going to get a chance unless a couple guys get hurt. It has become clear to me that Calipari play his favorites and I don't think the team is responding well to it.Cal sounded pretty shaky about the Yale game on his show tonight.
