After seeing our bigs early on last night get moved around under the goal like they were do you guys think Cal uses him this year to help out down low or redshirts him and plays Humphries more? Granted I know Skal will improve as the year goes on like Towns did. Just curious on what you guys think.

IMO, Cal will not redshirt him if he is capable of logging a few minutes a game. As we witnessed last night, foul trouble will be more of a problem this year than last. Let me say, if Cal doesn't have to play him, he may try to keep his red-shirt, but I think he will use him if necessary.
Because New Zealand HS graduate in December not May or June so he just finishing HS next month.
Cal doesn't seem to red shirt kids, if memory serves right, and many have already pointed out that this kid may not play all four years before trying the NBA so why not have him ready and available if foul situations or injuries should happen. He'll be far behind at first but, hopefully, can work hard to catch up and be more helpful by February, if not earlier.
