WVU Firing Brown

Sumarall to WVA

Rumors are that Brown may take the UMass gig. If I were him, I'd shy far away from that. Seems like the job to kill a career.

He’s a UMass grad so that would be the only draw. I agree..that is a dead end job. He can 100% get a decent gig as an OC, probably making more money.

He may have changed his mind but his family has told people I know in Danville for a couple of years that if he gets fired he’s coming back there to mess around on his farm since he has plenty of money to live there. May just be grandparent wishful thinking too.

I mean, Danville High School has a coaching vacancy right now (even though I know Neal went to Boyle).

Somewhat surprising. He has a hell of a squad last year. 6-6 this year isn't great but it ain't 4-7 either.

He's 5-1 in bowl games has won over 70 games as a HC. I could see him going OC route at a P4 for a couple years. Still a very young coach at 44.

He certainly doesn't need the money. What did aTm pay him to walk? $70M or something.
Jimbo is waking up to golf in Hawaii tomorrow morning (or doing something similar) and that's not extraordinary. If I was him, I'd be done coaching after that buyout. Sumbitch can live like a king on conservative investment income the rest of his life. Is he a stress junky?

I’d like to see Jimbo at UK. Well known name, National Championship and connections in Florida and Texas. Maybe he wants another chance in the SEC.

Saban and Fisher both from WVA and Rich Rod also in the mix sounds like they may have offered to Saban.

I would also point out that the annual schedule at wvu includes 9 conference games and Pitt and Penn state. Only get one money game win a season.

Stoops had the luxury of starting the season 4-0 with cupcakes and a down Louisville. Now Brohm has overtaken him in only two years.

Can't win at a and m with way more resources. He wouldn't win at UK.
Exactly. Jimbo playing in the same league and more talent and couldn't win. How is he going to win with less talent at UK? He played in the ACC and won the title before the playoffs expanded. Florida State was a shell of itself when he left.

I was watching the Cats when Bill Curry was the coach. Alabama was thrilled for him to leave. The top programs in football are not getting rid of good coaches. He was pushed out for a reason.
