The big wins against Duke, Gonzaga, UL, Florida, TN x2.
Beating Duke, Beating Gonzaga, Loved beating UL, UT in Knoxville...listening to Pope after the games win or lose. Watching players grow, pulling together a team in a short timespan and being competitive. Seeing how the players have each other's backs and are playing to win for KY, not looking for ESPN highlights to forward their careers.
Pope about the name on the front of the jersey rather than the back.
Exceeding EVERY preseason prognostication and seeing who the real ride or dies are
Watching a team of players and a coach who have the #1 goal of trying to win. It's inspiring as a fan and generates a ton more interest in the team for me personally vs watching a group and a coach just going through the motions with one (or both eyes) on the NBA.
And a bonus, seeing basically every other actual candidate for the job including our previous coach doing far, far worse than us.

Our coach and team has performed beyond my expectations. Excited for next year to be even better.
Actually caring about each and every game again, having fun watching Kentucky basketball once more, and of course, beating Duke, Louisville, Gonzaga, Florida, and Tennessee twice.
This season has been mostly positive. A coach that loves UK and who wants to win is the start of that. And the many reasons that the posts before mine state.
I was able to take my oldest daughter (13) to a game at Rupp this year for the 1st time. She really enjoyed the experience. She didn't become a basketball fan but was still a good time.
Having a coach that's made some good halftime adjustments, and knows when to use a timeout. Having a coach that openly loves the program and fans, and doesn't belittle BBN. Very refreshing. The culture is about UK basketball again.
The only thing that wasn't a positive was the injuries. That, and pope's "C-A-T-S" video when he announced his hiring. He won't ever be able to fully get rid of that one lolol.
I will list a few positives for me.
- Not being called a Basketball Bennie and talked down to by the coach
- Not hearing about kids not being robots
- Not hearing a coach say he hasn't seen the players when they are injured
- Not hearing a coach say he wants to get home to his dogs after another disappointing loss
- Not hearing a coach say we are built for March only to lose in March too
- Not losing to multiple crappy mid major teams in Rupp....in the same season
- Seeing an actual out of bounds play ran in a game
- Having fun watching UK again.
- Having what I feel is realistic hope that things are going to get better
Attending the duke game and coming away with a W. There are a lot more but working doesn't give me that kind of time.
This. We finally have a coach and players that care about the program beyond it being the g league.
I’ve enjoyed this season more than the previous 4 or 5 combined, regardless of the outcome. From the initial pep rally to the wins over Duke, Gonzaga, Louisville, and Tennessee. I’ve enjoyed watching the team fight for wins despite repeatedly being short handed due to injuries, in what has been the toughest conference slate in college basketball history.
This is why I still have a high level of confidence in our team to make it to at least an Elite 8.
