Props to Scheyer… that is a hell of a schedule.
Scheyer probably knew they had to boost their SOS because the ACC sucks now.
I will always root for Duke over Louisville. But I think I’m gonna have to root for them to beat Kansas now that we’ve taken them down.

I’d rather us have a schedule like that. To state the obvious it’s a better learning experience for the team and much more exciting to watch.

Because we don't play scrubs like Clemson, Boston College and Georgia Tech in conference..
Hell no. Hope they lose 10 games. I hate Duke with an absolute passion, I would NEVER wish them success.
Ewwww.. Why would you EVER root for freaking Duke? Don't get me wrong, I hate UofL, but Duke is the bigger enemy of the two.
As for the KU game, I just hope for a power outage in that one.
Two things:
1. We play in a real conference that doesn't have weak ass teams. Bama, Ewetee, and AU alone are enough.
2. Most of this schedule was set before Pope got here. So, it's not his fault.
This! Hell, there’s like 8 teams in the SEC that are ranked. There was 9 in the preseason, IIRC.
Want them to win? Heck no.
Need them to win to keep that great Q1? Sadly yes.
It’s very easy to tell who in BBN resides in or around Jefferson County and who doesn’t.
I don’t have to deal with Duke fans on a daily basis. I also don’t think Duke fans care near as much about UK as some of our fans do about them. Louisville fans loath Kentucky
They won't drop out of the top 50, which is what it would take for it to be a quad 2.
I would NEVER, EVER pull for Duke. Not in a million years. But you do you. I hope they lose every game they ever play.
And you can say that about Duke "fans" all you want, but it was evident last night they absolutely cared.
And as much as I can't stand UofL, the bigger threat to our standing in CBB is Duke, not the Cards. UofL is close to IU status at this point. They're barely relevant. Still want to beat them every chance we get, but in the grand scheme of things, between a Duke win or a UofL win? Gun to head I know which one I'm picking.
I don’t disagree that Duke is typically a bigger threat but that fact doesn’t outweigh the obnoxiousness and vitriol that I get from Louisville fans on a daily basis.
And if you ask Duke fans who their biggest rival is, not a single one of them would say Kentucky. They’d all say UNC. Just like all UNC fans would say Duke. Louisville fans would say Kentucky. It’s always been weird to me that some of you guys die on the Duke hill, considering we barely ever play them. I’m assuming it’s a Christian Laettner thing, which happened 9 months before my birth.
Yeah, then you just don't get it, which is fine. That shot hurt. A lot. Laettner stomped on Azi's chest and should've been tossed. Of course, that didn't happen because of Duke favoritism (and UK ref hate). That shot never should've happened because he never should've been in. It was the greatest game ever played in the sport and damn it, we deserved to win it- but Duke favoritism won out yet again.
He was a typical Pukie prick. And pretty much remained that way. When he debuted at a Hawks game....he was booed HARD. And you could see the look on his face, like "What the hell?" and then he remembered where he was....in the South....in SEC territory.....in Atlanta....where there are a LOT of Kentucky fans.
We exercised that demon in 98. But the hate will always be there, even if it's a bit less with the Rat gone. The obnoxiousness of their fan base, the way they flop, the crap K let players like Allen trip people with little to no repercussions, the ESPN favoritism....all of it is way worse over the course of a year than the one time we get to thwomp a weak UofL. Of course, Duke wouldn't say they are our top rival. They have a legit basketball team down the road from them. One that's actually won something of merit more than a couple of times. UofL used to be good and a program worth of respect. Maybe they will be again some day.
UofL is like an annoying chihuahua. Kick them, and they'll piss off. Duke is more like a Belgian Maloiks. Their bark and bite are legit so when you beat them, it's all the more sweet.
Our ooo schedule is not easy. Top 6 Duke, top 2 Gonzaga, Clemson, osu and UL. The conference schedule is way tougher than Dukes as well.
They only have 2 games against currently ranked opponents after Dec. 4 - the two games against UNC.
