Okay but Willis didn't turn it around in one month at the end of the season. You just said it yourself, it took him 2.5 years, Skal doesn't have 2.5 years, he has a month. He won't be here next year because some NBA team will tske him.But you have to understand, Skal has all of those stars because he has a great deal of potential. The value is there. Willis couldn't play for 2+ years, and is killing it. People kept calling or Willis to play. But Skal can't struggle?
Mathews was never thought of as talented enough to be a lottery pick. Why are you trying to throw other players at this?I think it's important to keep in mind that he's still a cat. He's not there. It's frustrating because he was so highly rated. Matthews isn't doing much either, and we're not killiing him.
Hope he comes back next year.

Skal gave Cal no choice. Cal started him for 1/2 the season and played him a ton of minutes and he only proved that his hands are weak, he has no knowledge of the game, he can't rebound and he is not ready to thrive at this level.Everyone develops at their own pace. I'm not saying play Skal, because he's killing us.
But people always act like the stars are the only reason he gets 5 mins per game. Hell, Hawkins an Matthews are getting 5 mins too.
Proved your point? Are you okay? You're making my point.
No one cares that Matthews isn't producing because he wasn't supposed to be a star. Skal isn't ready, so people are killing him. He's a kid. He didn't play much/any real basketball in a year or so before coming to UK.
But just because Rivals/Scout/ESPN told us Skal would be good--he's allowed to having growing pains like anyone else.
The difference is that Skal was recruited as our "go to" player in the paint and was being touted as the #1 draft before the season ever started. So far, Skal has been, not only a disappointment, but a farce. You're making my point.

Exactly! In this one and done era, I expect Cal to bring in the best....and he usually does, but Skal is a "head scratcher".That's literally what I'm saying.
If you didn't expect anything from Cal, you'd be patient and forgiving. Because people told you he'd be great, you're frustrated with him.

Think he came in overrated ( Analysts do get it wrong from time to time ) and we're dreaming the impossible dream at least for this year. I really believe he's doing the best he can and he has nothing else to offer at this juncture. His upside is in the future. I hope a lot of his critics eat crow for some of the harsh things they say. Bottom line , it is what it is.Step up and get significant playing time and help this team..
