Will Ulis be here next year?

Sad but true. I hate to see guys like Dakari, Marquis Teague, twins, etc walk away from Cal's coaching (which could only help in those cases), more experience, exposure, etc to roll the dice. Sure, those guys can come back for a degree, but they were already here in the first place, only now they're no different than any other student (so to speak). I would at least miss the fan adoration with the opportunity to work on my game/increase my stock. Oh well . . .

i'd rather make money

I'd hold out to make BIGGER money. You can make money by going early, or stay a couple of years and surpass and offset any money made during the lean years. Big picture. Immediate small gains or sacrifice for big gains.

The sooner a person is drafted into the NBA the sooner they get out of their rookie contract. Opening them up for more years of potential maximum earnings.

If he gets enough feedback from the NBA scouts that he is a definite1st round pick, then he has to go. If they tell him he is a 2nd round pick then maybe he comes back. He is a 1st team All American if he returns though.

Sick of hearing about money. You carry the Cats on your back like Ulis and the money in the long run will be better from the UK family than a NBADL contract. If he doesn't get guaranteed money he's not going imo. I think cal has a ton of pull and could get Ulis the guaranteed money but his size is a big liability. Nate Robinson was a 3 or 4 year player. Sophomore 5-9" guard is going to get drafted based on potential.

It just doesn't happen.

That is no reason to leave college ball of you actually want to come back.

Probably comes down to how the year ends. If he carries us through the ncaa on a nice run , he will leave. And should. If we flounder then a good chance he stays.

But we would have Briscoe , fox and Ulis not to mention Monk. Just cant see fox and ulis playing in same back court. Fox is special. Wall special. Needs the ball in his hands. We all know Ulis is special. If the opportunity is their Ulis will get that pay day.

I loved Damon Stoudimire. I would not be surprised if Ulis is not close to his size. So the size thing will come up. But if ulis keeps playing the mins he is right now all year, he will show he is durable. That will help.

More then likely gone.

Hopefully not.

Oh, we are talking about the real Tyler Ulis, I thought we was talking about the poster Ulis.

Ulis is gone IMO. Skal is the one we should be asking about. Not so much is the ready because clearly he's not but will he go anyways

I think Ulis is gone. I would love to be wrong about that. Could you imagine having two point guards as good as Fox and Ulis on the same roster? I'm sure we could find a way to make it work without Fox feeling Ulis is the leader and he will just play shooting guard. I guess it's a good thing we will never have to worry about this. I think in any other case, we might have a shot at getting Ulis back. With Cal and his desire to get Ulis drafted 1st or 2nd round as a SO when every coach out there said that Cal was finally getting a 4 year point guard. That is just a big eff you to all those coaches and extra bragging rights when he can say all of you guys wouldn't have got this kid drafted earlier than 4 years but i'm Cal and i never had a doubt the kid would be drafted early. If a talent like Ulis was here at Kentucky for 4 years, it just wouldn't be fair to the rest of college basketball. To have a leader for that length of time, wow! Just think about how awesome a thought that would be. Ulis probably won't get the respect by most Kentucky fans when it comes to the point guards that have played for Cal while here at Kentucky, but myself, Ulis is my favorite and the one i feel most comfortable with when the ball is in his hands. With the already loaded roster we have for next year, if Ulis comes back, go ahead and ship us our national championship. It won't even be close. When you have bigs like Bam and Jones and maybe even Lee on the floor at the same time to throw lobs to, it would be insane. I'm pretty sure the rest of college basketball is not just hoping Ulis goes pro early, but also praying.
