Will Stoops let the defense do some blitzing…

We held Lane Kiffin’s offense to two touchdowns without one of our best, if not our best, defensive players available to play. The defense is not my main concern.
I still think they moved the ball pretty easily and the QB had all the time in the world.
Put me in the corner that thinks we have to put more pressure on the QB.

We blitzed in the first half and they hurt us. We played base in the second and shut them down.

UK does blitz, maybe not as much as some want. Picture on the front page of this site shows Square in Dart's face as Dart throws. Bowl ended last year with Square INT on blitz by Corker. To say UK "never" blitzes is not accurate.
Three posts up says "Stoops never blitzing." And I said maybe not as much as some want.
Whatever Stoops is doing, we should keep doing. And whatever we are not doing, we should continue not doing.

If we want to give up more big plays to the opponent then we should blitz more .

DK...I'd much more prefer his offensive studs he has on offense being fed the ball instead of letting Levis be the hero. Don't know when's the last time we had so many playmakers on offense. Of course the oline is certainly not a thing of beauty. If we can't score more we're in trouble headed down the stretch. No reason to lose that game Saturday.
Danny I try not to pay attention to a lot of these birds on here. It is quite the group. Most are ok though. lol
This will never be a blitz heavy scheme and I don't think it needs to be. Hopefully we get Weaver back and that improves our pass rush from our up front 4. That's something many are forgetting. Weaver is the best pass rusher on the team and with him out it creates a major void that we just couldn't fill. We don't really have anyone on the roster right now that provides what he does.
UK blitzes regularly enough. I think people conflate “blitzing” with “rushing seven defenders” too often. I’d encourage anyone questioning the amount of blitzing to rewatch the defensive snaps.
I will say, I noticed less blitzing vs Florida per my eyeball test. Seemed the gameplan was to make AR beat UK with his arm and blitzing could have led to him rolling out of the pocket and either making plays with his legs or completing passes scrambling.
