I've watched portions of 3 games and here's what I've seen:
1. Very aggressive - DL strive to beat their man and make tackles, not occupy blockers; lots of run blitzing; lots of M2M coverage; DBs will jump a route to go for the INT
2. Coached to create TOs - constantly trying to strip the ballcarrier or jump a route
3. Will incur some penalties due to their aggressiveness
4. Typically haven't seen a lot of blitzing in obvious pass situations, they let the DL do their thing

If we start Wimsatt, we won't have 50 yards at half. They'll run blitz 75% of the time and we'll get stonewalled at the LOS.

If we start BV, imo, we HAVE to get decent yardage on early downs. Have to throw quick, short passes in lieu of running game. Our OL will not be able to sustain blocks to allow 5+ step drops and scan the field - no way. Misdirection, play action, trap plays, quick slants/seam patterns - I'd try that all day long. Jet sweep, QB keeper in the WC, running straight into the A gap - all losing strategies, imo.

We'll see if Hamdan has done his homework and learned anything from the USC game.

So Wimsatt it is.
Unfortunately, that's what I expect, also. Which, in my mind, is basically forfeiting the game. I can't see a scenario where Wimsatt is able to keep it close, much less win. Our D would have to score and maybe BB return a kick for a TD to keep it respectable.

We fans are being asked to not lose faith while the staff is considering starting a QB who we cannot win with. You can't make this stuff up.

They literally are going to run over us!

I can't watch if he's the starter.

You have to try to compete.

No one expects UK to win but BV may be able to score 10 to 13 and maybe the D shows up and we get a defensive or special teams score to keep it close and have a chance.

On the run thing, interestingly thats where an aggressive defense can be vulnerable but not on straight ahead runs between the tackles. Have to use pitches to get to the corners and the old delay draw action to burn the hard rush when it opens up. Also use the backs in the flats and play fake to throw behind the rush to the TE and backs in the middle. But havent seen much of any of that this year so nevermind.

Inside run and play action. That's literally our only chance to even keep it close. Their dl will be trouble if we do just straight drops. All season our OL is leaky on straight drops yet somehow after ole miss we went back to that.

We will need to possess the ball. They will run the ball against our depleted defense. We cant let them just grind us to the point every handoff is 13-15 yards.

^BBI:
Let's not forget that at least once our DBs will leave a WR wide open for a huge play/TD. Happens every year vs the Vols. One would think that, after playing against the Heupel offense for 3 years, we would be better at defending it (other teams have shown us the way). But, I expect they'll go for 40+ Saturday.

UT is a pos team. They are indeed dirty. Their stadium sucks ass too.

They are very strong in the front seven but just mediocre in the secondary. See the Arkansas game as the blueprint on how to beat them.

Unfortunately, we don't have a QB that can throw, or a RB that I truly trust, or a line that can do jack ish. Maybe Wimsatt can run the wing-T like in 2011, or not, lol.

However, while everyone worries about the offense, you might want to worry about the defense. They have looked like hot crap for the last couple of weeks. There is no excuse to give up the rushing yards they have with the talent in the front seven. Plus Brad White doesn't understand how to pass rush so UT's QB is going to have a day.

Doesn't really matter who you start. They are both 1 read qb's with questionable accuracy. BV has better accuracy but wimsatt can run better. The oline is pure garbage.

Wimsatt was given the opportunity to earn more PT last week and failed to do so. 3-9 and a pick doesn't elevate you to being the starter.

Not much left on the table of us this year but what we could do Saturday is knock Tennessee out of the playoff race or at least reduce the probably of them getting in considerably. That to me would be a nice prize and something worth cheering for. I live here in Vol country and they think UK football is a joke. They think they are lock to make it to the playoffs. Oh how I would love to burst that bubble 🤣

Why not just go with the freshmen at this point in the season... would rather loose with youngsters than upper classmen

Wim and bvg will be running for their life's down at neyland god that's going to get ugly

Because he might die. Only kinda serious. It wouldn't be right to throw a true freshman out there behind this line against a major SEC defense, much less a front seven like Tennessee. He might take a serious injury that could sideline the rest of his career. Now Murray might be a different story.

Boley has three more games left before his redshirt is burned. I think that’s right as I don’t believe he played in the Ohio game. No reason to play him in this one. If BVG struggles again let Boley take over starting with Murray and start building for next year.
