Reflecting back on the Stoops era, the program has relied heavily on three star players at all positions. As players have been scouted/covered on their way to signing, I don't recall any less enthusiasm for the promise of three star wideouts than for players at other positions. My question then is if they were comparable athletes/players to guys at other positions coming out of high school, why has that position group not produced as well as others? Is it scheme, quarterback play, development, something else? As people talk about the wide receiver position as a problem, is it inferior talent there or could some of those guys produce under different circumstances?
