Why isn’t Brea in the game?

There’s no reasonable explanation. Easily the biggest criticism mark to this point.

I thought that it was his use of Amari Williams. But seeing so much of Andrew Carr, I can kind of understand that he doesn’t have many options at the Center position.

It seems that his boy Robinson gets as much fun as he wants, but Brea has barely played in the second half. And always breaking wide open threes while Brea sits.

Coaches are supposed to put their teams in positions to win and Mark Pope simply hasn’t done that tonight.

He can't score unless it's a 3 and they are guarding the 3 very tight. He's got to develop a game inside the arc

None of the guards can drive worth a crap besides Butler. Robinson does nothing. Brea on the floor opens up space if nothing else. On a night where we can't hit the broad side of the barn, not playing the best shooter in the country is ridiculous. I don't care if he can drive or not.

Brea has the shortest leash on the team. Cannot help stupid but it's plumb ignorant stupid for him not to play more.

Best shooter in the country and he’s not getting enough touches.
Not just touches or shots, but just plain not enough minutes. It’s insane.

You have to go small at this point. All three of your bigs have serious limitations. You can’t keep playing two of them when you have a shooter like Brea. You either go small with this team or you just have double digit losses and get bounced early in the tournament.

Brea can't dribble... He was a turn over waiting to happen...

Sadly.. We only have 2 that can dribble well... We play way to loose with the ball...

Yeah no reason for Brea to not have been in this game more not to mention have some plays run to get HIM some shots. Makes zero sense. This is my first real issue with a Pope decision.

Cmon now nobody's asking him to handle the ball up the court but he has showed he is a capable ball handler. Absolutely no reason he shouldn't have launched at least 5 threes tonight. I hate when people exaggerate to try and make a point.

He really seems to struggle to find open looks.

It’s the glaring offensive difference between he and Robinson. Robinson is quite adept at creating his own shot, but you can’t count on it to go in. Whereas Brea is money when he does get open, but getting open ain’t easy for him.

Not all of our kids can play in a game like this and brea is one of them. They better get used to games like this. This was an sec game on the road in January

No.. But he was not getting free coming off screens... So he was having to create his shot... And he is to weak with the ball... Go back and look at Brea, Carr, Oweh.. Basiclly anyone but Butler and Kerr... They all have very bad dribbling fudementals.

Even if Brea can’t drive it that well, I still feel we could run him off screens to get him looks. In my opinion, he has to be in the game more. If not to score but maybe to open up the offense by being that threat for the defense to have to keep an eye on. Klay Thompson torched my pacers one night with about 40 in the first half alone, and I think he dribbled about 10 times in total. We should do that with Brea.

NBA doesn’t give 2 shits about defense most nights … tonight Clemson cared a lot . Brea being a one trick pony will continue to get neutralized. Dude has to learn a game inside the line .

His inside the line game isn't near as inept as everyone is wanting to make it out to be. I have actually thought he looks quite crafty close to the hoop but he's just not a selfish guy.

It does not take a rocket scientist to see whoever was guarding Brea was told NOT to play help defense. THEREFORE, just being on the floor helps us offensively. Guards should drive in his side everytime.

Why should he be if he can’t get open for 3s, can’t drive to the basket, and doesn’t play great defense? It was obvious that Clemson’s game plan was to give him very few opportunities. Tip your hat to them for achieving that. UK have others that had good looks and they didn’t fall. It happens now it on to the zags. Relax it’s a long season.
