Who else thinks Oweh and Brea need to be the go-to guys?

We have 4 go to guys and you named 2 of them. The other two are Robinson and Butler.

Its scary to think we have 4 when most teams have 1 or 2.

But after all-its our birthright and the deep pocket Kentuckians that love basketball as much as we do have forked out enough dough to get these guys in the bluegrass and of-course Coach Pope, and we are literally an unstoppable force already.

You guys know we will only get better and better with all the Upperclassman playing more and more together and gelling under Pope’s tutelage.
Ill say this, despite the brutal schedule. If the Zags dont get us early in the season we might run the table.

UK is simply that good, that deep, that experienced and that well coached.
In basketball are we able to redshirt kids after so many games played like football?

Carr looked awfully good in the Duke game. It seems like he can be relied on big games down the stretch as the go to guy.

Brea needs to play until he’s so tired he can’t make it up and down the floor.
Then you would see his shooting % drop significantly.
It's going to come down some anyway (regression to the mean), since no one in the history of the game at any level do I think has made > 55% of his 3's.

Noah and Perry have a ways to go but plenty time to get there. Chandler is older and it shows. More strength, steadier....not likely to get carried away and a little out of control.

Their day will come somewhere. Learn, grow, get stronger, practice.

The coach said they use a device in practice that tracks the moment their performance begins to slip due to fatigue. They compile the data and use each players individual numbers to determine substitution patterns.
Sorcery.

I'd like to see Noah get Chandler's minutes
I get wanting to see that bc Noah is the better shooter and a KY boy.

Reality is, Chandler is a significantly better all around player and athletically can defend at this level at multiple positions. Him being more versatile is why he’s ahead of Noah. Noah is the better shooter but not better 2 way all around player at this point. As a deep bench sub, it’s really just about how versatile you can be to plug and play at multiple positions without being a liability on defense.

All players now have 5 yrs. In effect, there is no redshirt anymore.
Why do we need A go to guy?
They are all go to guys, and that makes it tougher for the enemy.
40-0
Cats by 90.
I was watching a game the other night. I forget which one. But the team had 1 returning player. He was a Sophomore and the announcer said he decided to redshirt.
I couldn't believe it. But I guess Redshirt is still a thing. Like you I thought that was over.

Geez you are right! That makes Five.
An absolute embarrassment of talent on this Ky team.
I'm not sure I really see it as an embarrassment of riches. More like a lot of upper middle class dudes. It's such an interesting dynamic. I've coached HS basketball for over 20 yrs and I've watched every second of every game including the exhibitions. I've got no freaking clue how I'd guard us. I think I'd drop cover Williams, completely no help JR, give Butler room then chest him up in the lane but don't help, play OO a little more traditional while making him make a 3 or two first, and just beat the hell out of Carr in the lane. Basketball is basketball and I feel like I've seen enough of it to have a decent idea. The chess match starts with the subs. Brea is chased and run off all screens completely no help and if you leave the floor on a shot fake from him you're coming out. Of course, that opens up EVERYTHING else. I'm telling you, these are just 7-8 (maybe 9) dudes that can just get it done. It's scary. If they can defend and rebound against the elite teams...hell, I don't even want to think about it.

Idk about go to guys as I dont think we have that in this team-
But Oweh is our best overall player
Brea is clearly our best shooter- he's called nothing but net on every 3 point shot
J Rob is like the current version of Buddy Hield on our team-

This team is so balanced it's hard to tell, but the 4 leading scorers through the first 4 games give a good indication of who we will lean on offensively this year. I think Garrison may continue to surprise offensively as well.

Oweh | 21 points vs Wright State
Brea | 20 points vs Bucknell
Carr | 17 points vs Duke
Robinson | 20 points vs Lipscomb
