Why I won't overly criticize most staff hires

Yes, some ADs and head coaches have done better jobs than others in hiring people, but let me point out something concerning football. If you track back about 50 years, you will find that every team in the conference has had down periods, including Alabama. LSU had several average to bad HC hires during a 10-15 year period, considering their great tradition and fan base. Sometimes, it seems like pure luck dictates hiring the right people. Obviously, UK and Vandy got behind in football in the 50's with tradition and may never catch up, you can say the same for teams ever catching up with us for extended time periods in basketball. Yesterday was extremely frustrating, but all we can do for now is back our program and welcome the new recruits, some who are top notch players eagerly enrolling the next semester and the rest signing in February.
