If the kids don't want to be here, why should anyone want them to return?

Cal can't force them to come back. He allows the player and their families to make their choice. He definitely advises them on whether the NBA scouts and all of the evaluators he trusts, feel as if they are going to have a shot at being drafted. Sometimes the players and their families choose to go even when it's NOT in the player's best interest.

It is what it is. With Cal we will ALWAYS have a great group of kids coming in to replace the ones that leave.

This sense of we don't want them is just crappy.

When your kids want to leave to go to college, do you not want them?

I never said that "we don't want them".

I just said that it's the player's CHOICE. So why lament the fact that they are ready to move on?

When my kids went to college I SUPPORTED their decision and didn't try to FORCE them to stay home, even though I wanted to keep them with me from now on.

Just like last year whenthe new time to return rule wad implemented, Cal will have every player enter their name and go as far through the process as it takes to get the information they need to make their decision, minus the ones who've hired agents already. It's what led Briscoe to return and Tyler and Skal to move on with their career.
