This has been going on for awhile, Pope has talked about guys not being ready for the first half, not bringing it. Shouldn't veterans be better able to have their minds in the right place? Is Mark having problems getting these guys on the same page, to the point that they went out and watched Hamilton rather than hanging out in the gym? Is it NIL?

FWIW if you have ever coached you know you can warn teams exactly what's coming , and warn them how they can put at a disadvantage , but young people ( even older college guys) dont always do do exactly what the coach tells them to do . If he can't get these guys fired up to play in MSG on CBS, that is a problem. And before ppl come in and say "well they had a week layoff and it is the game right before Christmas," this has been an ongoing problem for most of the season.

It kind of looks like we think we have to have a 3 point shot right of the bat. If we miss the first one, it seems like we take two or three more before we make one. In the meantime we are already down eight points. We have been forcing some 3s the last several games. I read where we air balled four last night, good shooter don’t shoot many air balls unless they are forced. The slow starts are starting to concern me more each game.

10-2. Highly ranked. Great chemistry has been documented. Terrific coach who preaches teamwork. Uses the roster. Player comments are always positive.

I rarely , if ever call for ban's on posters . But spreading manure about locker room issues on this team is ban worthy . I'll mark you as trouble at the least .

Said it before and I'll keep saying it: don't think this team is that talented. I think this is a great roster for a mid majors, or maybe a decent roster for a middling P5 program like a Northwestern or Oregon St.

I think they is who they are. And not to pile on them, but remember that a lot of these guys got pretty nice NIL deals to leave a place like Drexel, to come play for UK. Now, I'm not saying they took the deal and now are coasting (but that is always a possibility), but more so, how could a player of their caliber NOT jump at this? Remember, Pope and UK had to totally scramble to put these guys together. I think theres at least some of them who probably didn't have many options. Stay at Oklahoma St.. where you made no money but kind of fit the status of a weaker basketball program? Or go to UK, get NIL, be in TV, etc.

Just wonder how much different Pope's team is going to be when he can really get the guys he wants.
