This has been going on for awhile, Pope has talked about guys not being ready for the first half, not bringing it. Shouldn't veterans be better able to have their minds in the right place? Is Mark having problems getting these guys on the same page, to the point that they went out and watched Hamilton rather than hanging out in the gym? Is it NIL?

I joked to the person I was with yesterday that "UK will probably get down 10 points at some point in the first half, but they're a second half team, apparently, this season." Ugh. Next thing you know, it's 35-25 and UK looked anemic. Like they partied in NYC clubs all night. WTF.

FWIW if you have ever coached you know you can warn teams exactly what's coming , and warn them how they can put at a disadvantage , but young people ( even older college guys) dont always do do exactly what the coach tells them to do . But locker room problems .. say it or go away .

Coming out continually unprepared with a lack of energy falls 100% on Pope.

If he can't get these guys fired up to play in MSG on CBS, that is a problem. And before ppl come in and say "well they had a week layoff and it is the game right before Christmas," this has been an ongoing problem for most of the season.

It kind of looks like we think we have to have a 3 point shot right of the bat. If we miss the first one, it seems like we take two or three more before we make one. In the meantime we are already down eight points. We have been forcing some 3s the last several games. I read where we air balled four last night, good shooter don’t shoot many air balls unless they are forced. The slow starts are starting to concern me more each game.

10-2. Highly ranked. Great chemistry has been documented. Terrific coach who preaches teamwork. Uses the roster. Player comments are always positive.

If you are going to try to come across as having greater intelligence than I , you could at least stay on topic . I did not , at all, question your happiness or commitment to Coach pope ( in this thread !!!) , I ask directly about you mentioning " internal issues" so as others have quickly ask , either put up or STFU . I rarely , if ever call for ban's on posters . But spreading manure about locker room issues on this team is ban worthy . I'll mark you as trouble at the least .
