Who Will Have More Fans In Indy For Midwest Regional Kentucky or Tennessee.

We’re not going to be able to make it Friday.

But after we win Friday we will definitely be there for the Sunday game.

With a one day head start I would have to think Purdue fans bought a lot of those tickets. But I am NEVER surprised by the BBN getting into a big game!!

Hope we have a huge crowd there!!!

I know we had a lot of fans yesterday but at times it sounded like an Illinois home game. How many did we have make the trip to Milwaukee?

Should be UK easily. The game is in Lucas Oil Stadium, not the place where the Pacers play.

The extra 10,000 or so seats should allow for more blue.

I’m not quite thrilled having to beat you all for the 3rd time. That’s really hard.
Tennessee’s only losses this year are in the conference. I was kinda looking forward to not playing a SEC team. Also, the fanbase of whichever team that loses is gonna take it hard. It sucks enough already to get eliminated but having it be a rival makes it tougher.

Yup my buddy was 39 as well. Unfortunately it’s been a long struggle for me to try to get off that posion as well. He just had gotten out of rehab two weeks prior to dying.
Hang in there man. You are stronger than this addiction. God can give you strength!

Agree. Don’t like that we’re paired with a rival we play 2 times each year. NCAA tournament is hard enough, but having to play one of your top rivals in the Sweet 16 makes it even more difficult.

I think the thread is mostly off. For one, Purdue fans are very rabid and Indy is a home city for them. Second, UT fans are excited this year. They filled Rupp arena. They had a 24 hour head start on us, and their drive to indy is not all that far either.

My predictions on fan counts for Friday:

Purdue: 15,000
UK: 10,000
UT: 8,000
Houston: 500

Purdue since the campus is about 1 hour from Indy.
I don't think that will matter. For one, Purdue is the 2nd most popular school in Indiana (even though the better one), UK has a ton of UK fans all over the state, including Louisville which is less than 2 hours from Indy. I don't think that 1 hour makes much difference.
Also UK fans are more optimistic as a 3 seed vs a team we've beaten twice, than Purdue is as a 4 seed going against a 1 seed.

Purdue fans may be "rabid" but can't compare to the rabid obsession that UK fans have!!!

If that is the total # seats (33,500), I will predict:
UK: 14,000
Purdue: 10,000
UT: 8,000
Houston: 1,000
none (probably just local IU fans hoping to see some good games): 500

The questions is, who do those Purdue fans (& Houston fans) pull for in UK-UT game (if either)?

Damn this hits close to home. I had a lot of friends die from heroin ODs and it almost took me out too but been clean over 4 years now and still trying to get things back I lost. Keep up the fight brother, it is winnable.

Normally I'd say us but a lot of people seemed to be in wait and see mode while wondering if we could finally make another Sweet 16. We also were the last team to punch our ticket there. Unless a lot of you bought tickets in advance, I'm not sure how many are left. I just checked the cheapest and it is at $700. That's insane. You could get some for $150 when bracket was announced. Stupid scalpers saw UK and jacked up the prices.

Man I'm sorry for both of you , @michaeluk26. I have a nephew fighting a terrible battle with alcohol right now, he's 32. I've given up my drinking as I was far too deep in the bottle. I was lucky, my body never craved it but I understand addiction enough.

I was in a bad wreck and I'll be on fentanyl patches the rest of my life. I'm definitely addicted to them but its controlled by my pain clinic. There have been a couple refill mistakes and my body lets me know really damn fast. I don't wish it on anyone.

Fox2monk, I know you do already but please reach out if you're struggling. I'm always on here since I can't work anymore. Prayers for both you guys.
Damn I hate to hear that about your nephew. I pray he finds his way. It took me waking up in jail for the 3rd time in 3 years to say I'm done with this life. Luckily couldn't prove the first charge, plead out the 2nd and 3rd. No felonies thank God. Thank you for the kind words and I totally understand some people are gonna need strong pain medication the rest of their/your lives. My dad's been on them since 94 and I'm sure you STILL have pain regardless. You're exactly right, wouldn't wish it on anyone. Again thank you for the kind words. Means a lot.

I did get arrested again in 2022 or 2023 for assaulting paramedics and cops after a seizure but I was examined by several therapists and could claim postictal/ PTS induced psychosis so I got a year of unsupervised probation after which it's like the charges never happened.

So sorry brother. Man you EVER need to talk dude hit me up on here. I promise you I'll answer no matter the time. You're by far one of my favorite posters and I don't want your account to suddenly go quiet. I'll be praying for you too brother.

Hopefully they will go back down game day for UK fans in KY who could drive there in 2-3 hours.

They are good but I would rather face Houston than Purdue or Kentucky. There is just bad juju from both.
Hey Vol1977, were you around for the 76-77 season? That was a super Tennessee team. They gave Kentucky 2 of their 3 regular season losses that year. I was surprised they lost so early in the NCAA tournament that year. Many thought they had a great chance to get to the FF for even win it all. The Ernie and Bernie Show was that team's nickname.
