Anyone know who got charged with the turnover on the out of bounds play from under the basket? I was there and had a good view and that one was on Perry to me. Oweh tried to lead him, and Perry wasn't as aggressive as he should have been in going after it. The earlier turnover, when Perry missed Williams on the high pick-and-roll on the right side, I blame that one on Williams for not getting in a solid position to recieve the pass.
I sense a little tension between OO and Perry. There are a couple of guys on the team that don't seem to trust Perry. OO misses other open people on his heads down balls out drives to the goal. But he seems hesitant to throw it to Perry in general. An open Travis Perry three is about as good a shot as this team is going to get. He's at 40% on threes. If you aren't looking for him, you are hurting the team. For Perry's part, he needs to step up and play with more confidence. He needs to start finishing those shots in the lane.
The whole team made a lot of mental errors down the stretch. Williams got beat on two consecutive free throw rebounds, when he made no effort whatsoever to box out. The first didn't hurt us, because TX threw it away to OO for a dunk immediately after. The second turned a 72-70 game into 74-70. These types of mistakes are often related to fatigue. As my old high school coach would say, "I think we need to work on our conditioning this week." Meaning run your ass off in practice.
