Who else is concerned about Bama game?

UK has failed to score 70 or more in all their losses. Can Bama keep UK from scoring at the pace they want to play at? I don't think they will be able to, but yes every game is concerning at least when playing good teams.

We are pretty consistent. My concern is which Alabama team shows up. Alabama looked like the best team in the country when they destroyed UNC at UNC, but Bama just lost at home by 10. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if we won by 10 or lost by 20.

Not concerned as much as aware Cats are a legit underdog against a real fine team. Bama is more than capable of embarrassing anyone on a given night. The fact that their coach lit ‘‘em up hard means we could be seeing the best Bama of the year, and we got some aches and pains on some guys that are gonna be showing.

Lol… should be a fun game.

I really don’t understand why we don’t trap more. Especially the primary ball handler. It would also cause the opposition to burn more shot clock.

Yeah I don't understand why more teams don't do it.

Whenever a team is down by a ton they usually try to press and trap and try to create turnovers to get back into the game. I feel like when they do that they almost always create turnovers at least when they start it.

I feel like do it in spurts. I think about a couple of games where we were down by quite a bit. We got back into the games by forcing turnovers on defense and leading to easy points on the other end.

Then again we force turnovers on just 14.9% of the other teams possessions. That's awful. That's 323rd in the nation.

BUT breaking that number down a bit more:
Our steal % is 9.8%. The national average is 9.9%. So when looking at it that way we are average.
It's the non steal turnover% which sits at just 5.1% (national average is 7.8%). That's 363rd.

So it seems to be the non steals that are really driving our number downward.

Butler will be the key to this game on both sides. We have to have somebody to guard Sears and keep him from drivin in and around us for buckets and kickouts for their 3s. If he runs unchecked we'll be in trouble, so hoping Lamar is healthy and brings it and we dont get a tight whistle where he gets early fouls.

Then on offense he's can put the pressure right back on Bama driving it hard to the rim for scores and kickouts himself and make them guard him without fouling too.

Yeah, they are top 10 team.
But what has me most concerned is that they just lost a HOME game by 10.
So, I think we will get their "best".
Maybe where they lost a home game by 10 points. Maybe their confidence is shaken, that's always a possibility.

Yep Sears is a player. However, Bama didn’t play us well defensively last year so maybe Rupp doesn’t suit them. We blitzed them 117-95

I'm definitely concerned, but also I know a loss here won't hurt us too much.

BUT, a WIN HERE could be massive.

We would be 4-1 in our first five SEC games, with a chance for a road game @ Vandy to be 5-1 through the first THIRD of SEC Play.

If we think 12-6 gets us a 2-seed in the big dance and a double bye in the SEC-Tournament (which I believe is true), beating Alabama and Vandy in our next 2 games means we just need to go 7-5 down the stretch in order to reach that. That is SUPER, SUPER ATTAINABLE. Go 8-4 in that stretch, you have a very, very real chance of winning the league at 13-5, worst-case would probably be finishing 2nd.

Being 5-1 coming out of the first 1/3 of league play is massive for our chances. 4-2 isn't bad. But lose this game, then ALL the pressure is on that Vandy game on the road otherwise we risk opening SEC play 3-3.
