Who else is concerned about Bama game?

It was always going to be a tough game. It's one I've always thought we could potentially lose.

The good news is: Coming off 2 top 15 wins/Quad 1 wins, we're in good shape. A loss vs a top 5 team isn't going to significantly hurt us. I actually think the pressure is on Alabama. I'd be a lot more concerned if we lost one of the last 2 games.

We're Kentucky. We want to win every game. The reality is--just about every SEC game is going to be difficult and we'll lose some.

I'm not really, even if we lose. Obviously would be nice to win home games, but as long as we can get to 10 wins in the SEC, I'll take it.

I suspect Bama won't be easy. If we win, we're really sitting nice for a high seed, if we lose, it won't ding us too much. But we're going to take some more losses in this conference and there isn't much shame in losing to Bama, especially when they will undoubtedly have like 5 fouls to our 9 at some point...

Just get into the tournament as a 5-seed or better is the first goal, because I think UK can take any team in the early rounds after going through the SEC. Some of those early games we might throttle teams. Hopefully though we can get to 3-seed or even a 2-seed.

I think we are getting mentally tougher. Plus we are at home. Should be a good game but I’m looking for the W. An L wouldn’t send me into a spiral of the world is falling. Even if it is a 10 plus loss. We expect the players to ‘bring it’ every day. But I don’t ‘bring it’ at my work every day. In this league if you lose focus for just a few minutes, you’ll find yourself down double digits.

Agree with all this.

I think we're on the edge between a 2/3 seed. Win, you're the first or second 2 seed. Lose, you're probably the 1st or 2nd 3 seed.

I don't understand the "I wish they hadn't lost" idea. I want all of the the top contending teams to lose every time they play. If Bama had beat Ole Miss they would be 4-0 and trying to put us 2 games behind them Saturday with winning momentum. Instead they are coming off a home loss and have to come to Rupp. I'll take that scenario. They were coming to Rupp no matter what so doing so off a loss is better than riding high at the top of the standings IMO. I'm still worried about the game but not because they just lost. Because they are a really good team

Because teams play with more focus and urgency after a tough loss. Bounce back situation. Made our game tougher

Not particularly.

If we have any easy games left this is certainly not one of them.

But:

—We’re at home
—The pace favors us being able to play our best game and I wouldn’t take any team this year over us when we play our best game
—We’re about due for a high-percentage perimeter game and Pope’s a great motivator
—High heart team: We have still never lost when we’ve been underdogs

Of course we could lose. But I think there’s more chance that we don’t than that we do.

I think we're still suffering fallout from Cal. We got used to being let down in big home games.

I'm willing to trust the Pope and team have scouted Bama correctly and we will find a way to slow them down enough to earn the win.

If we play well we should win. But we could have a clunker too, it happens. Just watch the pro teams, some nights they just suck and get their ass handed to them. So don't get too high or too low Saturday afternoon.

Concerned, yes. Of course. Bama is really good. But this UK teams really seems to turn their shit on for the good teams. Will be a hell of a game, but I could see the good guys edging out a 5-7 point win.

Sure they are a very good team coming off a loss and due for a bounce back.

But I'm not really all that worried about it. Least not more than any other SEC game we are playing or have played lol.

They are all tough games. We could very well drop this game. We are going to lose a bit of these. You just hope at the end of the day we win more than we lose IMO. Get to 11-7 and that's a very good SEC regular season this year IMO

Yeah, they are top 10 team.
But what has me most concerned is that they just lost a HOME game by 10.
So, I think we will get their "best".
Hoping we can hold fort in Rupp again. I think our newfound Physical play and improved rebounding efforts will pay dividends. Just need to keep them from having a big night shooting. But I can also see the score being like the Florida game. We play them twice, I'm hoping we can manage a split with them. We always knew that was going to be a tough game.

As tough as the league is, you must protect home court. Give your best effort on the road knowing you can't win them all. I think we get the win at home.
This is right where I am. We need to come out on top of our game Saturday as I feel it is most important to protect home court this year in this conference. Yes, we won on the road at MSU but that may be the exception rather than the rule this year. We have some very tough road games ahead and need not to slip up at home to get a better SEC seed for our tournament as well as the NCAA tournament. Bama will come here with every intent of playing at their best and try to come away with a win in Rupp. Make no doubt about that so, yes, I'm concerned this Saturday, going to be a real battle.

Kentucky was going to get bama’s best whether they won Tuesday or not. This game is exactly like the Florida game, bama won’t be overly physical like A&M, and it essentially will come down to who can get a couple of stops late

The way Butler could barely lift his shoes off the floor in the second half last game has me very concerned about this game. Really hoping we have just enough to win because we have 6 rest days after before Vandy
I was at the game and stayed for 10-15 mins afterwards and Butler was walking around fine after the game, the one to be concerned about it Carr. Back issues linger and his sounds like it will linger all year

As someone with back pain, I feel it when I see it. Love the fight out of these guys

The rationale, which I agree with, is that teams more often than not follow up a stinker game with a good game. Every game we don't play them OR the game before we play them I too want them to lose.

Like us they shoot alot of threes who can out gun the other I guess will win . I did like for the first time we can play a grind it out game like the last game we played . That's very promising moving forward . We have to protect the homestead . GO CATS

Amari has been a man on a mission.

In the losses Bama has they typically shoot poorly from the 3 point line. In one or 2 of their close wins they have been out rebounded or about even.
So to me the key is us being on target with our 3'a, hold our own on the boards and do our best to defend their 3's.

Cats will win this one. It will be a close one though IMO.
