Where Will It Flood?

If some of the rainfall predictions come true, this will be close to a "100-year" event, if not more. This website shows where it will flood near you if you type your address in the box. If it's more than a 100-year storm, the blue shaded area will be even bigger. Think in terms of roads washing out between you and supplies, if you aren't in the floodplain, but are trapped between two floodplain areas. Develop a plan with your family if needed. Best wishes to all. We're in the enhanced risk zone of the same storm all the way out here in north central Texas.

I just saw totals were just revised down from this morning.

I have seen some people quote the upper amount of 15" and think that was a one day total and not spread out over four days. I'm in Paducah. If we get a 4" rain in a 6-8 hr period, we'll have flash flood scenarios that will be a 12 hr event after the rain has stopped.

I'm more concerned that Jim Cantore is in town to watch tornados tonight.
