When was the last time a UK team had 6 players in double figures to win against a top 10 team?

... in a Saturday game that started at 11am in January.

It's amazing how Pope's offense gives so many of his players opportunities to score. It seems to work best when we have multiple players involved in the scoring.
We didn't see it much under Cal the last few years with his guaranteed minutes to the one n done players doing one on one plays.
We have something called a "Team" now.

After watching Pope's offense and team principles these first 14 games, I don't see ANY reason why he won't be able to recruit the VERY BEST to play here!!!

What kid wouldn't want to play in this system???!!!!

Could not find any with 6 against top ten, but I only looked for about 15 minutes.
Just did a ChatGPT query, and it came back as yesterday being the only time that it could find this happening in a UK win over a top ten team.

Thiero 1 point off with 9 from making it 6 players with double figures in the Miami win.

Looked for awhile in recent years, several years we didn't play top 10 teams, maybe 1, and if we did we lost, or if we won like 2 guy, never more than 4, did all the scoring

Thought maybe the year we steamrolled Kansas in 2015 or with Oscar a couple years ago down there, but nope, or some of those 2017 games...but no

saw Myron Medcalfe post this

yesterday Florida scored 137 points per 100 possessions yesterday. For 99% of teams that would have easily won against their opponent

except UK scored 146 points per 100 possessions yesterday.

by comparison, the Boston Celtics score 120 points per 100

I checked my database and while UK has had 6 or more players score double-figure only 74 times, it only came against a team ranked in the top 10 once prior to Saturday's Florida game. That was back on 26-FEB-1977 vs. Alabama.

UK vs. Alabama - February 26, 1977

In that game Jack Givens, Rick Robey, Mike Phillips, Larry Johnson, Jay Shidler and James Lee all scored at least 10 points. UK won the game 85-70.

That was where I was looking, but I guess I missed that game. I love that site!

Thank you Mr Scott!!!

You are the best and THE authority on UK history!!

I thought it was a RARE occurrence against a top 10 team. Coach Pope seems to like spreading the wealth!! What a game for the CATS!!
