Let’s all be honest. The SEC isn’t even sometimes basketball. It’s a rugby scrum. Teams like Tennessee, Carolina and others play a …. They can’t call them all style. They are coached to keep a hand on you hip or shoulder. They are taught to bump everything coming off screens. This should be illegal but the league lets it go. Cal never taught to foul. Alabama doesn’t. I don’t see coach Pope teaching it.
My question is this…. What impact will this style of play have on all of our motion? Will our screens and back door cuts negate this style or will physical play completely shut it down?
We saw with Cal that freshman did not have the strength to drive with a hand on the hip. We could not get around and drive on the teams that play this way. Will coach Popes system aid or negate physical teams????
