I think I can guess what everyone on our schedule learned: waste a few fouls on Skal, bump him around roughly in the first 3 minutes and he's no longer a threat.
It's a sure thing the Cards and Buckeyes will put some early muscle on him and see how he reacts. If he'd just keep fighting he could score 20 pts on free thows, gather in a dozen rebounds and foul out some opponents' bigs. IF.
To make matters tougher, instead of stepping up when he's needed most, Poythress seems to step back. Then our guards start taking shots they can't make. What happened to Willis' J anyhow?
Cal will "fix" most of this before season's end, but he surely wasn't kidding when he said the team wouldn't be very good early on
