IMO the part the 7 points many UK critics don't understand:

1) We get top talent every year (many OAD).
2) UK is covered alot by sports media.
3) Oh, back to #1 all that talent is almost entirely FRESHMAN.
4) Cal recruits top guys and doesn't discourage them to enter the NBA
5) Oh, back to #3, Coach Cal tells us every year that it is hard to build team chemistry and good, team basketball when you rely on so much new talent.
6) Yet, the critics of UK (and sports media) just assumes because UK has several guys who will play in the NBA that we should win the title.
7) The "best" team(s) in a single-loss tournament don't always go on the win the title. Even getting to a FInal Four is special (we've been to 4 with Cal). WINNING A TITLE IS VERY SPECIAL (we have 8 in our storied history).

I'm just sayin'.

8) Even the OAD's or 2AD's still embrace Cal, UK and the BBN. In fact, I'd argue the UK alumni in the last 5 years are more involved, embracing and better spokesmen than any school in the country. It absolutely makes no sense that people say these guys don't love UK or care about college. It's the exact opposite...

Critics of this program will always find something, so try try and combat with logic/facts is wasted time, but I appreciate your effort :)

All we, as fans, can at most ask is being in the hunt for a title every year...and that's asking for the world, but as a base we are unrealistic babies.

Cal has delivered that to near perfection. Are there games we should have won (UCONN twice, Wisconsin last year, WVU)...of course, and that's where odds come into play. You are going to have a poor shooting night (Knight vs. UCONN), injuries (Randle hamstrings, Poythress last year) and just crazy whack-ass stuff (4 trips with nothing vs. Wisc., taking 20 ft jumpers vs. 1-3-1 zone, etc). College is not like the pros, you can do a lot of things defensively to counter the talent gap. And at some point experience and executing a game plan trumps talent.

What you can also look at is how Cal/UK have changed the landscape...we introduced the "super class" that Coach K and now Izzo have adopted. He's getting his message to the NCAA about stupid violations and how we are going toward super conferences that might look at creating their own league and leave the NCAA.

Haters will hate, but don't let any of that stop your enjoyment of being in the middle of the greatest run this program has experienced and up there with any program (outside of the UCLA/Wooden era).
