Was it pain over leaving our program ?

Was it not playing Anderson when he was cleared to play so his draft status would slip knowing he was leaving and hoping to get him in the draft? Costing us a Championship.

Was it coming back to college game to our hated rivals and all his antics from there?

I know the stuff he's done at City College has just intensified the hatred but what started it alL for you? Just curious?

Mine is the refusal to play Anderson so his draft stock may slip already knowing he was taking the Celtics job.

First there's no way he should have played Anderson as his knee wasn't healed. 2nd it was signing at a rival.
There's no way he was cleared to play 2 months after tearing his ACL. If he was cleared it was a ploy to help his NBA draft stock. People don't just came back after tearing their ACL in 2 months. Not possible. Use common sense people.

In the 100 Years of Kentucky Basketball DVD, it said Anderson was cleared and even practiced with the team. Larry Conley mentions Anderson going up for a dunk and someone undercutting him and he fell hard and he saw Pitino's mouth drop. Conley said Pitino decided then that he wasn't going to chance anything.

I didn't care that he went to Louisville. It was after he decided to constantly weigh in on our coaching hires. He didn't want us to get rid of Tubby & then pushed for us to hire Ford or Pelphrey instead of Cal.

For me, it was when he openly lobbied for UK to hire Pelphrey or Ford to replace Gillispie. He knew he'd dominate either of those two which is why he wanted them here, not because he thought they'd be successful. Calipari getting hired was his worst nightmare.

Yeah, I remember at the stories and accounts, I just don't believe athletes on this level can return to full speed game action 57 days after surgery. If Poythress had the same recovery time, he would've made it back for the last month of the regular season.

To me he slithered out, a liar and a coward. That was bad but forgivable. Then he went to UL. That's a straight up traitor. His personal issues merely reminded me that he slithers.

The day he left...it's the old "you're either for us or against us" saying for me. I wouldn't say I've "turned" against him...it's just that you're either part of BBN or you're not.

I still appreciate all that he accomplished while he was here though. The man can coach, he could just use a smidge* of humility.

*smidge = the size of a Caterpillar 793d dump truck.

Signing on to coach UL started it. He could've gone pretty much anywhere else and UK fans would've wished him well I think.

if he would have chosen almost any other school BBN would have followed and rooted for him as our second team
i agree with Keyser, Pitino in his arrogance though BBN would follow him to hell (ul)
he was very wrong and he has had a hard time accepting the fact that BBN loves UK more than him

That's what I just said.

Several reasons, as follows.

He went to UL.

He cheated on his wife

He went to UL

He funded an abortion

He went to UL

He turned into a pasty faced vampire

He went to UL

He ran a brothel for recruits

He went to UL

He flipped off KY fans

He went to UL

He's a flaming asshole.

He went to UL

ALL THE ABOVE !!!! X 10

I wasn't aware Rick had an abortion. BTW the same Constitution that gives you the right to bear arms gives women the right to do what they want with their bodies. Either defend the Constitution or don't.

I, too, like to live dangerously on internet forums.

I don't care for him as a person as he can be compared , morally, to the likes of bill clinton and other reprobates. However, as a coach, I like him. For those fans not around when he was coaching, let me fill you in....He revived this program from not only probation but from a boring brand of bball that had been played for most of the twenty years before he came. He not only brought winning, but he brought excitement.
I harbor no malice for his leaving for Boston. While Ky is the premier bball job in college, Boston may be the premier job in the entire sport. As for his going to ul, Ky missed the boat by not firing TS as soon as Pitino became available. His taking the ul job had nothing to do with Ky bball. It was a great opportunity...Any guy on this board worth his balls would take the best job available. That's exactly what Pitino did.

If you like him so much why don't you marry him?

Totally second Keyser Soze's thoughts-"he thought he was bigger than this program- I've always
heard his original thoughts were- there may be a few UK fans who won't like me going to work for ul"he sadly misjudged the fervor of this fan base.:.

Don't try to cover for RP...and try to be subtle and sly.
It had NOTHING to do with draft stock.
You need to try harder, to hide your agendas.
