They nearly went 30 years without a title already. I mean,
2013 - 1986 = 27 years
and it took Pitino, a former UK coach, to do it. That was an incredibly rare situation for them, wouldn't you say? Is a coach like Calipari going there next? I don't think so.... saying it could be 30 years before they win another one is being about the average.
Louisville is a top 10 program, but when you add Kentucky down the road it's not really thought about. That's the issue they have. UK completely overshadows them. Ask anyone not from Kentucky about Louisville basketball or find a Louisville fan that's not from the state. They're basically unknown and it does create an issue for the program. Again, that's why you thought Pitino would recruit and win better, but he didn't. It's not easy to win at Louisville. For a top program, it's the hardest to win there.
Not sure what's hard to understand about it. I mean, if only we had a coach that coached both schools so we had a good sample to see it.........
