UT loses only to UGA and goes 11-1
UGA goes 12-0 but loses to Bama in SEC Title game Bama is 12-1. Oke Miss loses only to Bama and goes 11-1

who goes into the play off assuming Clemson is undefeated
Ohio State or Mich one is undefeated and the other has one loss

Assume UCLA is undefeated.

A lot of games to be played but just throwing this out there for fun discussion.

These things usually have a way of working out but it might be the justification that will say that expansion was needed
Regardless of what anyone thinks they’ll say told you so, too bad we didn’t have the expanded playoff this year teams XYZ got ripped off ect.

If it happens like this you’ll have some pissed off teams that don’t make it.

Bama, Ohio State, Clemson and UCLA would be your final 4

I would say the SEC winner is in, everything else is up in the air but we'll know more on Nov 1 when the committee publishes it's rankings.

You will NEVER see more than 2 SEC teams in the 4 team playoff if ANY OTHER major conference team is undefeated.

SEC title game winner gets in
I think most likely UGA beaTs UT in in Athens. If UGA beats Bama in Sec title game that will leave most likely UT and UGA in. Ole Miss may only have one loss

UT has a real shot at being in. If Bama bea UGA then Bama and UGA get in by Bama being SEC champ and UGA beating UT.
UT’s non conference schedule is weak they have mighty UT Martin coming up this week.
This will be fun. Of course if Cats pull off a miracle in Knoxville we could spoil a lot.

Great question...I thought about it this weekend.

1. SEC Title game winner is without question going to make playoff with 1 loss or less. And in your scenario that is Bama (love it or hate it).
2. Big 10 winner assuming it is Ohio St/Michigan is going to make the play off

Now the 3rd and 4th teams are the debate issues.
3. I'd argue an undefeated Clemson is solidly going to get in the playoff (granted they play absolute garbage schedule in ACC).
4. I think the last spot will go to another SEC team. How you pick between UGA and UT is so dicey. I guess UGA gets it as they'd have won the lone head to head meeting. But then UT beat Bama head to head and Bama gets in with 1 loss.

So, it's all messy if this plays out. I would easily argue an undefeated UCLA has a poorest argument (even though it's fair to have a beef with it) but they play in garbage PAC 10 which is barely a step above C-USA/MAC IMO. But I can't lie...I'd laugh my rear off if TEnnessee got screwed out of playoff. :)

C'mon, they ain't picking a 3rd SEC team out of 4 places, esp 1 that didn't win a division

B1g t3n a threat for 2 spots, Clemson undefeated is a lock to be in

it would be bama from the sec as champs, and georgia because they were undefeated, also more than likely ranked number 1 and the only loss in the champuionship of the sec. just like last year.

They would LOVE to give the SEC only one spot.

Bama, UCLA, Big Ten, and Clemson in your scenario

Should kick out UCLA for UGA, but they won't

You left off TCU and UCLA, both are undefeated and still have chances to be 13-0, and don't play each other. Syracuse is also undefeated but plays undefeated CU this week. Not likely, but there is a chance there are 5 undefeated conference chanps and several with 1 loss.

SEC conference champ is in. All other 1 loss SEC teams get nice bowl games and a set of steak knives.

Probably, but Big10 feels the same way and we're left out in 17, when Bama didn't play for SEC Championship and got it. Amounted to a bye and other 3 teams had a war getting in.

Consensus among all smart CFB commentators and media is that SEC with 2 out of 4 spots is a virtual guarantee.

The OP scenario was the existence of 3 undefeated P5 conference champs. In that case—Sec gets 1 slot.
