No doubt Coach Cal would have been beaten to death on this board and others for using the University's resources to help a young man attain his dreams. For my part, I am proud to have a coach who is helping people. Would it have hurt the program if Diallo had stayed? Maybe, maybe not. Would it have helped the program? Maybe, maybe not. Some people would have looked upon the action favorably, others would not have. For my money, Coach Cal absolutely did the right thing to help this young man and it would have been the right thing if Diallo never played a single minute in a Kentucky uniform.
The good of the players and the good of people in general must always be put ahead of the good of the program. I am a firm believer that if you do what is right then everything else will take care of itself. For now, let us all tell Coach Cal how proud we are of him for standing behind Mr. Diallo and for ignoring all those idiots who try to find fault in the good that he is doing.
